@FadeyLuch @xiaocooki self publishing is not the only deciding factor in determining what is and isnt an indie game. the publisher is the factor thats easiest to check, but it leaves you with a lotta false positives/negatives.
whats far more reliable is to check is if theyre independently funded.

This is the problem with photo-realism in video games. It has convinced an entire chunk of casual players that a games merit is based off how close it visually simulates reality.
Which is why you never see these type of posts tweet actual gameplay.
Please I beg start posting gameplay of the games you like instead of landscape shots.

Final Fantasy VII Rebirth director Naoki Hamaguchi recently shared his thoughts on the future of RPG combat systems He said that games like Clair Obscur: Expedition 33 “may have been inevitable” as newer players increasingly prefer real-time gameplay over traditional turn-based combat. According to Hamaguchi, many younger players grew up with fast-paced action games and online multiplayer titles, which has changed expectations for modern RPGs. As a result, more developers are moving toward action-focused combat systems that feel faster and more interactive. At the same time, he made it clear that turn-based RPGs are not disappearing.
