Race is segregated. Your role in society is determined by race. You can never be anything but what your race determines. One race, the Ethereals, are considered superior in every way. Non-Tau are third class citizens or worse, just outright exterminated because the state has no use for them. But hey, the trains run on time in the Tau Empire, right? Sound familiar?
