Hey Muslim followers do you hate dogs? Why are all these weird people posting about dogs to own the Muslims?

The reality is that Islam is a massive religion w ~2b people and there are always gonna be different groups and cultures and mentalities. We are taught as Muslims to treat all animals with care and respect and never be cruel to any of them. We are also taught to correct those around us who are misrepresenting Islam but there’s only so much anyone can really do. Pablo Escobar was a catholic and many people supported him but that definitely wouldn’t be representative of Catholicism. I usually ignore the people and look at the religion. Does Catholicism say to kill people and sell drugs? Nope. So I won’t judge it based on a group of Catholics that supported that. If a Muslim country decided to ban all dogs, that still wouldn’t be an Islamic act because Islam doesn’t say to do anything of the sort. So for Muslims to come to a non Muslim country and push for that is even more incorrect in Islam. I follow an Iraqi comedy page on Instagram and his whole thing is that he loves dogs and raised 100k to open a dog shelter in Iraq for the strays. That’s a Muslim in a Muslim country and raised that much money from mostly Muslims. His name is “ItsTheBruce” if you wanna check it out. There’s always positivity out there.

i am from western melbourne bro, had some extremely terrible experiences but i still wont judge them all the same, i am just letting you know there really is a vocal minority that seem to hate them. if pakistanis were largely using your religion (incorrectly) to excuse their hatred of dogs would other muslims correct them or just let them be?

You are more than welcome to hold whatever opinions that you have based on your experiences. If there are people around you that want to transgress your civil liberties based on their own religion, that is obviously wrong of them. I am answering the question of what Islam thinks of Dogs. I am not responsible for the actions of other Muslims. There are always going to be those who are ignorant, those who uneducated, those who blindly follow culture masquerading as religion, and just plain bad people, in every religion and group. The religion itself doesn’t say anything anywhere about hating dogs or banning them anywhere. The Quran says nothing of the sort, and that’s what my stance is. I am sorry if your experience with Muslims has taken a negative turn. Hopefully you can keep your eyes open enough to see positive experiences as well, as I believe they should far outweigh the negative.

pretty sure its the muslims calling for dogs to not be in public areas that have caused people like me to get annoyed, they are doing the same where i grew up, an area they only recently migrated too. it started with self posted signs and then petitions to government.. i dont hate muslims and i understand its not all of them, but there is a vocal minority of muslims making you look bad in regards to dogs tbh. they use their religion as a reason to not want the dogs in public spaces, its not realy my fault for noticing that.
