Watching Twitter melt down over food these last few days reminds me of something: generational lines forgot how to cook because their mom and dad didn't pass it down. We are a couple generations into this now. A glaringly obvious point of the lost ability to cook is diner food. It's supposed to be a copy of everything someone would make in their house, food that is homestyle. And yet, how many people can't make what's on the menu at a diner? We have lost the skill of cooking, of understanding foods and how they compliment each other. Also, people can't read anymore and don't know what measuring spoons are, so it's gonna be an uphill battle, folks.
