Since Saturday, they have supported a call for people to attend the “Force for Good” far right rally in Edinburgh on Saturday 6th, organised by a Holocaust denier. Stand up to Racism Edinburgh will be mobilising against them.

Spotted at Falkirk far-right rally: East Calder Nazi Simon Crane. He’s the Scotland organiser for the fascist Homeland Party which was founded on Hitler’s birthday. These people pretend their protests are of concerned locals but everywhere you see Nazis at the organisational core

Last week I met with the Deputy First Minister to discuss the situation at Alexander Dennis. New contracts should be accelerated & there should be cross government cooperation with trade unions to ensure the future of Scottish bus manufacturing as part of an industrial strategy.

100 yrs of expertise, 3,000 jobs, future apprenticeships, Scotland's fuels security, £403.6m pa to the Scottish economy and much more, ALL GONE at the stroke of a pen held by a tax avoiding billionaire and China! A sad day for Scotland & 1,000s with livelihoods on the line 😢

SNP did zero to save the Grangemouth refinery & yesterday’s £25m announcement is derisory. But Labour haven’t done nearly enough either. What happened to the promises made by leadership to “save the jobs & put hundreds of millions into Grangemouth”? There’s still time to do it.

👀See anything wrong with this? 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿Scotland's last oil refinery is privately owned by an off-shore billionaire & the Chinese. 🇨🇳China wants to be a world leader in Sustainable Air Fuel. Despite a detailed plan from Unite to convert Grangemouth to SAF production, Ratcliffe & his Chinese partners want to shut the refinery, lay off thousands & import Chinese SAF 🤯

If action is not taken in #Grangemouth, the @UKLabour @GOVUK, these Labour politicians, are on the verge of colluding in one of Scotland’s historic acts of industrial vandalism. It’s time for Labour to decide whose side they are on. Read my article in @Sunday_Mail ⤵️

There’s gov’t money for Ineos to build a refinery in Belgium. There’s gov’t money for Ineos’s owner to redevelop his football stadium. But there’s no gov’t money for the Grangemouth refinery workers, their community & Scotland. That sums up everything that’s wrong with politics.

Talk of “ruthless cuts” to welfare is wrong because cuts will mean more people pushed into poverty. @TrussellUK @jrf_uk are right when they say we need an Essentials Guarantee that reflects the cost of food and household bills. Everyone should be able to afford the essentials.

NEW: A giant, radical memo from House Budget Committee Republicans was recently leaked. It’s a menu of all the tax breaks they want to give to the wealthy and corporations—and all the stuff they could cut to pay for it. Everything you need to know, a thread 🧵

It’s simple. If the Grangemouth refinery closes and Project Willow recommendations aren’t ready then it’s an unjust transition. If this happens then it’s certainly not a credible industrial strategy from the government.

“The UK has the highest proportion of billionaire wealth derived from monopolies and cronyism.” The government should annually tax these people instead of inflicting the pain of austerity onto ordinary folk.
Tax Justice UK@TaxJusticeUK

The UK has 57 billionaires. They hold £182bn, which grows by £35m a day. A third of their money came from cronyism or monopolistic businesses, shows new @oxfamgb report. We need to tax them more to reduce their growing power. theguardian.com/news/2025/jan/…

The 2035 Industrial Strategy green paper sounds tailor made for government intervention to save jobs at Grangemouth refinery and build it for the future. This year the UK Gov must live its words on this. @jreynoldsMP @Ed_Miliband @RachelReevesMP @GrangemouthJobs @UniteEconomy

We do not accept the starting point in Grangemouth’s transition is closure of the refinery and loss of nearly 3,000 jobs. There is an alternative - @UniteScotland has a detailed plan for Grangemouth's future. Both Govs have the 3 phase proposal. Will they do the right thing?
