I have a theory that tech people operate in a bubble where the average iq is like 120-130 and they hardly ever interact with people with sub 100 iqs I’d guess the average iq at my workplace is 130 because that’s my iq and I’m average here Idk if true just a theory but basically none of us have a realistic mental model of the world because of this

@ChrisAvellone I respect Tim Cain, but, he’s pretty much said he’s not that interested in doing Fallout again, and maybe I’m wrong but he seems way more passionate about turn based gameplay.

Because this keeps getting mentioned and the comparisons aren’t fair in some instances, here’s a list of New Vegas development team and if a Y/N if they still work at Obsidian. Note that Tim Cain and Leonard Boyarsky, two of the three founders of Fallout are also there (last I heard), so that’s two strong pluses, even if they didn’t work on New Vegas (both worked on Outer Worlds 1 and 2). So: Of the 73 developers, 16 still work at Obsidian, and in key roles. Tim and Leonard are also big pluses. Repeat mentions of a name were marked with an "X." George Ziets is at Digimancy is on Avowed 2, so technically he’s a “no.” I did not include any administration personnel or Bethesda personnel (notably Additional Writing, which had a lot of Bethesda staff who wanted to add writing to their resumes and we didn’t mind). If anyone has more up to date information, let me know – there were a few I couldn’t verify. And please double check my math, since well, I’m a writer.

@KermoTP1 @StreetFightslol You shouldn’t speak evil and justify it on any level. It’s revolting. On no level should he be fired. If anything you should say morally the man who assaulted the woman should be executed.

@StreetFightslol I would say as per being authority worker you could argue that he should be fired mby, but as for a man, he did well to some extent protecting female coworker (women overall) from further attack.

Netherlands. A Somalian guy didn't want to buy a train ticket so he hit the female train conductor and gave her a bloody nose, so another train conductor comes in and pretty much slam dunks him.

@_ChrisCovington @mgaruccio Well, kind of. It’s still gate kept by IQ. It still requires programming if you’re doing something convoluted. But it definitely opened a lot of doors for a lot of people in programming. I mean it’s a fantastic teacher, it takes people who suck, and makes them better. That’s good

There's two sides to this - the devs that do the job but hate the work, they really won't be in this industry much longer - the devs that do the job, love the work, and want to do more than can possibly be done by typing one character at a time with a keyboard You can love baking without caring if the wheat was cut by hand with a scythe or gobbled up by a combine

@mgaruccio @_ChrisCovington That’s what a lot of people don’t get. Some people love to code. Some people love to create and needed code to do that. Some are directors and some are lighting guys. The director doesn’t need to know how to light a scene, just that he wants it lit.

A lot of people don't seem to realize that all current LLM models are trash. The moment actual intelligence is achieved by a company they will keep it to themselves and "take over the world" by out-producing everyone on earth. Not a single company will sell actual intelligence over API calls. They're just duping dummies into *paying* them spy to on their data and spend labor on training their models.

So rebellion made things worse for them not better. But i guess no restrictions on slaughtering native Americans help compensate.

This really is an unbelievable story and just about sums up the UK right now. A small leafy village in Piddington has voted for independence from the United Kingdom because the Government is planning on dumping 1000 illegal aliens into a village of only 180 people.

Trying to sell something on Craigslist is like having to deal with an entire different species of people.

I just heard Paddy Pimblett (UFC Fighter from the UK) complain about American breakfast saying “Who wants bacon OR sausage? You want bacon AND sausage.” This might be the best criticism of American cuisine I’ve heard from a foreigner. Our default options are too restrictive.

@Bfrogged @Ruleof2Review I will say this, Nintendo released a demo of the game cubes power and basically made it like Ocarina, but modern, and it got people hyped. Then Wind Waker came out and it was grating. But still, WW art was pretty much enjoyed by all that I’ve ever seen.

Wind Waker is the perfect example of how to make a game that’s actually timeless. There’s no chance this game will ever look or feel “old” even in another 50 years. It’s extra ironic because of the backlash that occurred when the art style was first revealed. It’s a masterpiece.

@Ruleof2Review In 25 years I’ve never seen it. The game was much easier than Ocarina and came out around the same time as GTA3 so it was out shined by the Ps2. But I’ve never seen anyone complain about the graphics. Other than people liked the idea of a realistic Link, but they always want that

This girl initiated battle by hitting this guy's wife. And that sparked a sleeping bear of barrage attacks. These people dont know how to act. It is unsafe & a health hazard.
