Been watching footy for 25+ years, and the BEST players in the world have never played in the Premier League
From R9 to Dinho to Messi to Mbappe/Yamal
From Zizou to Kaka to Xavi/Iniesta to Pedri/Vitinha
In fact I would say with the exception of prime Henry and CR7, the PL has never had a top 3 player in the world at any given time

Unsurprisingly as he works his way back from an ACL injury, Rodri hasn't been at his best this season. But make no mistake about it, losing Rodri, the 2nd Premier League player to win the Ballon D'Or since 2001, to Real Madrid... In the same summer as Salah leaves and within 3 years of Kane and De Bruyne's departures... Would be a yet another sign that the absolute BEST players in the world, are playing outside of England.

What is Roy Keane’s problem?
Defends Gyokeres and says he’s doing what he’s supposed to do for Arsenal, and in a game of ‘hit, miss or maybe’ describes him as a hit.
But then describes Sesko as a ‘maybe’ and criticises people for praising his goal against West Ham, saying we have low standards.
The last time I checked, Gyokeres was bought as a 27 year old Golden Boot nominee in his prime. Sesko was bought as a 22 year old developing striker.
Gyokeres has played 23 games, starting 18 of them, scoring 6 open-play goals (8 in total— 2 from the penalty spot) and Sesko has played 21 games, only starting 11 and has 6 open-play goals and an assist.
Sesko has had 23 shots on target, compared to Gyokeres 14, despite starting less 7 less matches. Sesko has a shooting accuracy of 59%, compared to Gyokeres at 50%.
Sesko is 5 years younger, and yet still, his numbers are superior than Gyokeres.
If anyone is a ‘maybe’, it’s Gyokeres, the Golden Boot nominee, in his prime. And some would say that’s generous!

@nautfcb Don't think he was Overrated but there's a trend were players who've played for Real Madrid or Barca get's elevated to a pedestal they don't truly deserve, while those who don't, don't get the plaudits they deserve. For me KDB >= Zidane, but ppl will instantly dismiss the idea.

Sir Alex did try to sign Steven Gerrard, you're right. Jose Mourinho tried to as well. Why? Because Gerrard twice tried to leave Liverpool & even went as far as to put in a transfer request. He wanted out. You all burnt his shirt.
And Paul Scholes never would have considered joining Liverpool - otherwise instead of 11 Premier League titles he would've won none, just like Gerrard - who isn't even the best English midfielder of his generation.
Here's another fun fact - Scholes won more major trophies by the end of the last millennium (7) than Gerrard won in his career (5). Won 14 after that too.
