Sent by the Head of State, HE Paul Biya, to Geneva to work with GAVI, the Vaccine Alliance, I met with the key officials of this organization on 11 July 2025, to reaffirm Cameroon's commitment to global vaccination, in a context of testing international solidarity in health. Several points were the focus of this high-level meeting, including the expansion of the malaria vaccine to 116 health districts, the continuation of the HPV vaccine for young boys, the upcoming measles/rubella vaccination campaign, and Cameroon's change of segment to ensure a smooth transition to self-financing of its health programmes and a better position on the international stage. Cameroon's vaccination coverage was described as very satisfactory by GAVI authorities, who also praised the political will displayed by our President of the Republic in favor of vaccine immunization, a testimony to the growing maturity of our national health system. Finally, I had the opportunity to have a constructive discussion with Dr. Sania Nishtar, CEO of GAVI, on the challenges and solutions for inclusive global health. Today Cameroon is consolidating its position as a committed and influential actor in global health policies.
