In May 1881, a farm near Paris became the venue for an unprecedented public gamble. Louis Pasteur, an epoch-defining genius of microbiology, stepped out of his laboratory and out on a limb.
Loading his big idea into a syringe, he prepared to test a novel anthrax vaccine before a crowd of hundreds, and a deeply sceptical world.

Deeply grateful to the Government of Sweden for committing SEK 120 million for @Gavi. This new funding is in addition to Sweden's pledge in December 2025, their support for our private sector engagements and their long-term commitments to the International Finance Facility for Immunisation.
In a time of constrained resources and tightening budgets, Sweden is demonstrating its commitment to immunisation and global health security. We truly appreciate our long-standing partnership and look forward to ensuring this funding accelerates our impact and mission to build a healthier, safer world for all. Tack Sverige! @SweMFA @benjamindousa @SwedishPM
