@KaneHypeGuy It wouldn't surprise me if the set extensions were made in blender also.. I'm hoping if this film comes to physical we get a good vfx breakdown.

Various shots in the ‘BACKROOMS’ trailer appear to be made Blender, specifically many of the found footage shots. These shots are blended together with real footage incredibly well, making it incredibly difficult to tell the difference to an average viewer.

I mean, look at this. It's useless for map-making because they recast Isla Nublar entirely for this movie, but. Imagine the wildlife roaming at the base of either side of the cliff, safe from the other side.

I actually really love how this shot illustrates Nublar's mountains and valleys and cliffs. You can see how everything spills out from the volcano. #jwfk

While we are waiting for Backrooms, I just want to say that I feel Backrooms would work so well as a series! I know Kane wanted to make a limited series for a while, do you think now that he is in the industry and making the film, do you think he will try to get a show made? 👀

@Kiratarantula @Huddled_Up Idk what you're talking about, the story is very complex and thought out. What is it that you didn't like about it?

@Huddled_Up I don't know, I really don't. Maybe I should watch it again. He definitely works best when someone else is writing the story and he does all the visuals, because he's an AMAZING artist

apparently i've actually been to the mall in The Oldest View multiple times as a kid maybe thats why it felt so off

In various countries, Backrooms actually has a different title than the main US release! In Russia, the film is titled “ЗАКУЛИСЬЕ РЕАЛЬНОСТИ”, which translates roughly to “THE BACKROOMS OF REALITY”. And in Poland, it’s titled ‘BACKROOMS. BEZ WYJŚCIA’, or ‘BACKROOMS. NO WAY OUT’.

@Fan2021World What matters is being able to convey "Hey, the kids are on the destroyed Main Street set from the movie" and using that to tell the story; imagination can fill in the details. (Also, reminder that they DID use a minor-detail building from the movie in a centerpiece role).

For a really good example of how animated shows like Camp Cretaceous "keep it simple" for budget reasons, which may lead to "inconsistencies" between the movie and show, check these two images:

Both the Jurassic World movie and the Camp Cretaceous show have "trees in cement blocks line Main Street", but the movies have small groves while the show has straight poles. TRULY A DISASTER!, right? Not really...

@BrentKappel My biggest dream is for someone to rebuild the park exactly how it was: same map, same shops, same interiors, same attractions, in universal studios hollywood. We can ignore the hotels and feeding show but I NEED to see main street and the boardwalk with my own eyes before I die
