@barneyxbt FED sets or has influence with rate cuts on the short term rates (1 mo - 5 yr treasury) The market at large sets the 10 - 30 yr rates w/ supply & demand. Mortgage rates are largely tied to the 10 yr treasury. In simple terms, more risk in the US market = higher rates in 10 yr.

Explain to me like I'm 5 years old how rates are 3.5%, but mortgage rates are still at 7%.

@Jbar0012 @WillRagatz I don’t fully disagree with Hockenson and the Oline. There were plenty of times where JJ didn’t throw it because it looked like he didn’t know what to do, but he was given ample time. It’s a chicken or the egg in some cases, but compared to what it’s been, I think OL is decent.

@vikesinsider It’s early, but it also gets late pretty quickly. He’ll still be the starter next year, but they will have a veteran QB2 at the ready if he falters. He doesn’t really do anything exceptional. He’s shown flashes, but nothing any other young QB can’t do. At least he’s confident🤷‍♂️

It's understandable to be frustrated and explore trading players or whatever, but I can absolutely assure the audience that Kevin O'Connell's playcalling is not a problem. His QB — whoever it is — must see open receivers. They are there. This is not made up. Wentz can't see em.

The bye came at the best time this year, but the Vikes must’ve completely checked out during it. ☹️ However, KOC and Flores are still secure in their jobs and their seats aren’t even remotely warm. Both can be true atp Lmao at anyone thinking Wentz was a long-term answer.

Darnold or Jones were never the choice in 2025, so stop acting like they were. Any reasonable GM woulda rolled with the top 10 rookie pick from the year prior. Kwesi needs to get better at drafting. However, he’s still very secure IMO overall considering prior FA moves & UDFAs.

My thoughts on the Vikings: Extremely disappointing season. Unless something changes, it’s max 7-10 JJ still gets the rest of 2025 to prove he can play. 2026 is up in the air depending on how he plays. If he shows flashes, you roll with him in 2026 and build capital for 2027.

@cashmoneydrunk I think every Vikings fan is and should be happy for Darnold. I never was a McCarthy fan since he’s been drafted, but I still thought unless Darnold brought us to a Super Bowl, JJ was the guy in 2025 with Darnold/Jones/Vet as a backup. Hindsight is always 20/20

@cashmoneydrunk MN made him an offer and Darnold (correctly) declined. MN was always going to try & move forward with JJ as the guy. You don’t draft a top 10 rookie QB, have him not play a snap, & then move on. Stinks that McCarthy got hurt again, but it was & will have been the “right move”.
