Hi, I'd really appreciate it if you could share or donate to this GoFundMe campaign.*CANCER TREATMENT FOR FORTUNATE MUSHORE*
Hi my name is Clyde Takudzwa Maponga fundraising for my cousin Fortunate Mushore.
Fortunate was born on 13/08/2000 and unfortunately her dad passed on.
Yesterday is gone, you can’t do anything to change it , but learn from it.
You are not in control of tomorrow but can only plan for it.
However, your plans for tomorrow, are dependent on God.
Consultants are not saints.
Being a consultant is not as easy as it looks from the outside. Sometimes, you can unintentionally get sucked into the client’s political fights, while others purposefully engage in this knowingly. Sometimes, you walk into a project wanting to assist only to realize that the client wants to use you to get back at enemies or show who has power. While the intention is to help, you can face serious headwinds.
I have also been in situations where you did a good job and closed the project after making recommendations. The recommendations are trashed, and the client implements things you have not recommended. In many cases, the client still claims that recommendations came from the consultant. This is the most painful part of consulting; wrong things are implemented in the consultant's name.
I have learned that, as a consultant, you can only recommend. The client still retains the right not to implement or vary your recommendations. When things do not go according to plan, they blame the consultant, who cannot defend themselves because they are no longer on the project.
Lessons
1. Many wrongs things{you have not recommended} can be done in your name long after you closed a project.
2. If you do not understand the project scope and objectives well you can recommend the wrongs things.
3. Sometimes Consultants are willing to be used as long as they make money.
4. If you discover the client wants to use you to further certain interests that are not aligned to the business interests refuse and walk out of that project. I have done that many times. Sometimes I realised the trap when it was too late but I still made the client aware of my unhappiness in their approach.

Consulting is not for the faint-hearted.
A few years ago, I got a very good contract to do an assignment. I signed the contract. We are scheduled to have an inception meeting. Two days before the scheduled date for the inception meeting, I got a call from the client (contact person) wanting to see me urgently. I asked if everything was fine, but they said they could not discuss anything over the phone.
They requested to come and see me at the office. They came, and the news they delivered was bad. "I have been instructed to cancel your contract, and I cannot explain why." They left. Given the stage we were at, I could not think of any sound reason.
I never knew the reason until a month ago, and this is 4 years later. A board member had instructed HR to cancel the contract because this particular member knew someone who could do the job better.
This is the second time it has happened to me. The contract was cancelled for no reason other than that someone with authority preferred someone other than me or my firm.
Nothing is guaranteed in business.

This is a month earlier than the Zimbabwe blueberry season.
Well done team. Our glory always go to God.
