I feel incredibly unsatisfied whenever I tie in premier, because yes it does just feel like I wasted my time. But I didn't entirely waste my time, I was playing the game that I chose to play. Is there a better solution? Maybe. But I understand why it's this way

that, however, is that you then have in-game pressure of a player saying they want to be done, and then other players not wanting to be done, and now you have a rift in the team that can unnecessarily influence the play.

the longer a match lasts, the more uncertain it becomes that every player will be able to continue playing. valorant tries to circumvent this by only allowing a tie if a certain amount of players decide to tie, and this number decreases after every threshold. the problem with

Whoever at Valve thought that having a Tie as an outcome in Premier is a good idea needs to be fired and pursue a different career path, game design is not your thing.
