We were honored to welcome H.E. S.A @WairimuANderitu & Najla at our exhibition #TheWomenWhoBeatISIS at the UN HQ. This traveling exhibition shares the powerful stories of survivors of the #YazidiGenocide, keeping their voices and resilience alive on a global stage.

#TheWomenWhoBeatISIS by @FaridaglobalOrg gives voice to #Yazidi women who survived horrific crimes. Thousands were taken as hostages. I was privileged to walk through this exhibit with brave Najla who managed to escape. Many remain in captivity. Their fight cannot be forgotten.

Final preparation for the 10th commemoration of the Yazidi genocide are underway. The event will be held tomorrow, August 3, 2024, at the Yazidi Genocide Memorial, located near the “Grave of Mothers,” where many older Yazidi women were martyred in 2014.

We hope for further support from H.E. Amb. @bunkaeh , @CanadainIraq & @CanadainErbil to enable more survivors to be resettled and start a new life in Canada, as well as to provide assistance to families inside and outside IDP camps in KRI who are willing to return to Sinjar.
