In the relentlessness of our world, I find my peace on the farm. Here, we have the steady rhythm of the seasons, the gentle passing of each day. There is comfort in the sound of horses thundering across the paddock, lambs calling to one another and playing on the rocks while their mothers happily graze. There is an unbreakable truth in nature, and we thrive by immersing ourselves in it. Here are a few images from life on the farm.

I had to check if this was a parody account. First a message about how much you’re “delivering” in the midst of a fuel crisis (soon to be food crisis just fyi) and now a post about saving us money? Do you not ever get out and about? Have you not tried to purchase, oh, I don’t know, ANYTHING in the past month? I took my son to a local cafe yesterday and paid $67 for a burger, a milkshake and a small salad. It’s insane, Prime Minister. And while we’re on the subject of expensive things, I paid $2.85 p/l for diesel this afternoon and more than 50% was government tax. So that’s a place that you and your “regime” (because we’re pretty much there now, aren’t we?) could start if you really want to put some money back in constituents’ pockets. What you are doing is a pathetic excuse for governance, Prime Minister. You are so out of touch, you might as well be on Mars. And you need to fire your socials team- these posts couldn’t possibly be any more tone deaf.

South Australia may be sitting on one of the largest untapped oil resources on Earth. Australia is also... #1 exporter of iron ore #1 lithium producer #1 LNG exporter #1 coal exporter on Earth And the 3rd largest energy exporter on the planet. In other words… Australia helps power the world. Yet we still import most of the oil that keeps the whole thing running. Which makes even Adelaide, super interesting… Back in 2013–14, studies suggested the Arckaringa Basin near Coober Pedy could contain 200+ billion barrels of shale oil equivalent. Some estimates at the time suggested the resource could be worth around $20 trillion, and that's now over 10 years ago. Meanwhile Australia carries around $1 trillion in government debt. For context, Saudi Arabia has about 240 billion barrels. Venezuela around 300 billion. If those estimates are even close… That's Trump takeover territory Saudi-Arabia scale. Honestly, people in Adelaide should be sitting on gold-plated toilets by now and living the high life. Instead… Australians hand over close to 50% of their earnings in taxes and charges. Countries with big energy reserves like this usually turn that wealth into national assets. Norway built a $1.7 trillion fund from oil. For a country this resource-rich... you’d think we could at least afford our own fuel. So the obvious question is... Where exactly is all the money going? Credit: Marc Owen

Many farming families here in WA are a couple of weeks out from seeding with no fuel in sight. The backlog when distribution starts rolling again will jeopardise next year’s crop yields. But tell us more about your focus on and dedication to improving mental health in the regions, Albo…

There is a pattern, and it runs through everything. The sun was free. They sold you sunscreen. Sleep was free. They sold you pills. Walking was free. They sold you a treadmill. Fasting was free. They sold you meal replacement shakes. Cold water was free. They sold you a plunge barrel. Animal fat was free. They sold you supplements to replace what it contained. Fermented food was free. They sold you probiotics. Tallow was free. They sold you a seventeen-step skincare routine. Silence was free. They sold you a meditation app. Sunlight on your skin was free. They sold you vitamin D tablets. Every single thing the human body requires to function was available, free, for the entirety of human history. The 20th century built an industry around removing access to each of them. The 21st century is building an industry selling them back. Nothing about this is accidental. Your great-grandmother had none of the products. She had all of the things the products are compensating for. She was, largely, fine.

Just in case you don’t know: If you want to see a global crisis, let Australia run out of fuel… Did you know that Australia is the 22nd largest exporter on earth. 15th largest country by measure of GDP. As far as minerals go, we are the 3rd largest exporter of minerals on earth but per capita, we are by far the largest. We are the 3rd largest overall energy exporter on the planet, largest of the OECD countries. We are the Largest exporter of iron ore #1 $87,700,000,000 87.7 billion dollars or 55.9% of the global total. Largest lithium producer #1 61,000 tons 46.9% of global supply. Largest exporter of zinc #1 $2,2100,000,000 2.21 billion dollars Largest exporter for barley #1 $2,370,000,000 2.37 billion dollars Largest exporter for Bauxite #1 110 million tonnes Largest exporters of Liquid Natural Gas #1 in volume #3 in revenue. $27,400,000,000 27.4 billion dollars Largest wheat exporter #1 $10,200,000,000 Largest exporter of sheep #1 49% of global supply $1,500,000,000 Largest exporter of opals #1 90% of global supply. Largest exporter of manganese #1 $1,390,000,000 2nd Largest beef exporter after Brazil. 12 billion dollars. $12,200,000,000 2nd Largest gold exporter #2 310 tons annually 34.2 billion dollars 3rd Largest grain exporter #3 14% of global supply. Large exporter of copper #3 $64,200,000,000 - 7.1% 2nd largest exporter of uranium. #2 4.1 billion tonnes We have 30% of the known global uranium reserves. 5th Largest exporter of silver #5 Number 8 exporter of aluminium #8 $4.1 billion dollars 4.5% of global supply 26th Largest exporter of oil #26 $7,540,000,000 $7.54 billion dollars Australia is the 4th Largest coal producer of coal on earth. We are the Largest coal exporter on earth. 50% of worlds sea born coal comes from Australia. 150 million coming from the mighty Hunter which is the largest single coal export port on earth. It is completely irresponsible to allow a country that feeds and powers the world to get into a situation where we may need to pull up trucks because we have a fuel shortage… And you still have to work and get only 50% of your earnings? You kidding me! Where’s the money?

Fascinating! @JoelSalatin talks about ancient grasses that his pigs have awakened. Nobody can identify these grasses & the leading theory is that their seeds have lay dormant for 100s of years, waiting for the right conditions. This is environmentalism by participation.

@AlboMP While you’re ever so busy with all of your “delivering”, do you reckon you could deliver some fuel, Prime Minister? We could sure use some to keep food on shelves… Apparently some daft politician sold our 90-day supply to the States.

@TruthFairy131 It is definitely right across the country as the article says. We had a fuel delivery scheduled for early last week delayed (SW WA) and now our supplier has delayed again. Not looking great for farmers (not to mention consumers).

🔥 BREAKING 🔥 Australia’s Food Supply at RISK. Australia's food supply chain is at risk with suppliers unable to deliver diesel to farmers across the country after being cut off by major fuel wholesalers. Darling Downs grain and cattle producer Layton Free said suppliers initially moved to a quota system before cancelling deliveries altogether on Friday after Brisbane terminals suddenly stopped allowing reloads. Labor said this wouldn’t happen. STOP relying on the Government & MSM for information ❌

@PeteZogoulas and @DrewPavlou have made a must-watch short documentary film highlighting the fraud at work in Australia's NDIS system. Please watch and sign their petition calling for further investigation. Since our uni-party government has made it incredibly clear, I mean crystal, that they have little interest in doing the right thing by hard-working, honest Australians, I reckon we should simply stop supporting their broken, corrupted system. After all, federal income tax was brought in as a short term fix in 1915 to support the cost of WWI, so 111 years on, surely we've let them mismanage our money for long enough now? I'm really just so bloody tired of working my hands to the bone to pay for some morally-bankrupt opportunist's new Mercedes or another Canberra staff trip to the tennis. They can honestly just fuck right off. $4.6 Billion NDIS Fraud Scheme youtu.be/YDPsRyV5lQk?si… via @YouTube

I just love your posts. As a farmer, I cannot tell you how much enjoyment I derive from these little snippets of Doris and Keith. We experience the same here, on our farm, with our own Doris's and Keith's every single day. Thank you for shining a light on the serious obstacles farmers are facing with such humour, accuracy and creativity.

We climbed to the fell to speak to Doris. She was near the east wall. She had recently been in Brian's field and was back. Doris, you've been described in multiple publications as part of the problem with upland agriculture. How do you respond? Doris found a section of grass that was better than the surrounding grass and ate it. Your daily grazing maintains the open fell structure that supports at least three red-listed bird species and approximately 47 plant communities. Is this a deliberate conservation strategy? Doris walked four metres and ate different grass. You've been in Brian's field nineteen times this month. Brian is keeping records. What's the appeal? Doris looked in the direction of Brian's field. She looked back at her own fell. She looked at us. She walked to the west wall. Doris. Come on. Doris tested a post. The post moved 2cm. Doris noted this and came back. Last question: you got cast in a dip on Tuesday and were on your back for twenty-eight minutes. The farmer found and righted you. Any comment? Doris ate some grass. She did not look at us. She did not look at the dip. She did not, in any way, acknowledge the existence of Thursday. We respected this and went back down.

Doris shears approximately 3-4kg of wool per year. Doris does not experience this as a political statement. Doris experiences it as relief. The shearer arrives. The shearer shears. Doris stands with the specific stillness of an animal that has done this many times and has concluded it ends well. The wool leaves the farm. It goes to a mill in Yorkshire that has been processing British wool since 1887. It becomes yarn, then fabric, then a garment that will last twenty years if treated with basic competence. The polyester fleece on the chair opposite requires petroleum, a cracking facility, a polymer production plant, a spinning mill, and produces microplastics every time it is washed that end up in the water table and eventually the food supply. Doris requires grass, rain, and the shearer once a year. We have banned the import of new petrol cars by 2030. We have not reconsidered our relationship with polyester. Doris is available. Doris has been available for approximately four thousand years. Doris will be in the field. Waiting.

Let's check in on Gerald the Planet Killer. Gerald is a four-year-old Hereford cross in a field near Ledbury. He weighs about 600 kilograms. He has been busy this morning. 6:14am - Woke up. Began destroying the planet by eating grass. 7:02am - Continued environmental catastrophe by walking slowly toward the water trough. 8:45am - Committed a war crime against the atmosphere by exhaling. 9:30am - Did a pat. In a field. Where it will become part of a complex nutrient cycle that has been running successfully since before humans existed. 11:00am - Grazed a section of meadow, inadvertently aerating the soil with his hooves, spreading seeds in his dung, creating habitat for dung beetles, and sequestering carbon through the root systems his grazing stimulates. Noon - Had a lie down. The scientists monitoring Gerald's methane output have calculated that this methane, derived from grass pulled from British soil, is part of a carbon cycle that has been net neutral for ten thousand years of continuous cattle domestication. They have not been asked to present this finding anywhere. Gerald is unavailable for comment. He is destroying a particularly threatening patch of ryegrass on the south side of the field. Someone stop him.

Dear Australians, Today you find yourself facing a new reality, a reality never before witnessed in Australia. Today Australians can face jail if they say something the government doesn't like. Australians can also face jail time if they are a member of an organisation the government doesn't like. Whilst many will say "these laws only target extremists" (or words to this effect), the reality is that the definition of "extremist" is entirely subjective. Others will say "these laws are designed to lower hatred", the reality is that the definition of "hatred" is also entirely subjective. During #COVID19 we had government leaders describing those who disagreed with them as "extremists" - so, next time, those who oppose the government may well be put in jail. If we ever have a vegan Prime Minister, will they jail anyone who advertises their business' steak restaurant? This is an extremely dark day for Australia. These laws would not be out of place in North Korea, the USSR, China, or any other authoritarian country. They are entirely out of place in Australia. What makes it even worse is that these laws were enacted with the support of the Liberal Party (@LiberalAus). The party of Robert Menzies just enacted a law that Robert Menzies would revile. "The whole essence of freedom is that it is freedom for others as well as for ourselves: freedom for people who disagree with us as well as for our supporters; freedom for minorities as well as for majorities." "If we are to have freedom of speech, we must be prepared to hear things with which we profoundly disagree, and even things which we think are foolish or dangerous. The test of our belief in free speech is whether we are prepared to allow it to those whose opinions we detest." "Truth, as Mill pointed out, is most likely to emerge from the untrammelled clash of opinion in free debate. Today's truth may be tomorrow's error; and if we suppress the expression of opinion because we think it wrong, we may be suppressing the very truth we are seeking to protect." "The suppression of free thought and free speech is the worst crime of fascism and national socialism. It is the denial of the human spirit." - Robert Menzies (Forgotten People, 1942) The Liberal Party of Australia, today, stands condemned by the words of their own founder. Any member of the Liberal Party who supports these new laws also stands condemned by the words of Robert Menzies. It is time for the membership of the Liberal Party to act. It is clear that the party's leadership and parliamentary body do not reflect the founding principles of the Liberal Party, and its members must resign their membership, immediately, lest they too be condemned by these actions.
