FarmLink farmer survey: 60% facing significant pressure & 20% say it is threatening their viability! A survey of farmers in southern NSW, undertaken by FarmLink Research, has revealed the full extent of the input supply crisis facing agriculture, with 9 in 10 saying they do not have Urea fertiliser on farm, with the majority yet to secure a contracted delivery. Nearly 80% are facing input cost increases of 20% or more compared to last year, in a season where margins were already very tight before the crisis occurred, with more than half describing the impact as placing ‘significant pressure’ on their farming operation. The results show a level of uncertainty rarely seen at this point in the season. FarmLink CEO Shaughn Morgan said "What this survey tells us is that farmers are heading into the 2026 planting season without the inputs they need, and without certainty about when or whether they will arrive”. “When 9 in 10 respondents don't have Urea on farm and the majority haven't been able to contract a delivery, that is not a supply chain under pressure, that is a supply chain that is failing the people who depend on it," Shaughn said. FarmLink Chairman Rob McColl said “the findings require an urgent and ongoing collaborative response from industry and government, as these are not small or marginal operations, these are established farming businesses telling us that they are under significant pressure." “The combination of input costs rising sharply and supply that simply isn't there is creating conditions that put the 2026 harvest at risk. FarmLink will be taking these findings directly to government and industry to ensure the voice of our members are heard,” Mr McColl concluded. 🚨 Farmers – Have your voice heard! 🚨 Completing the survey will ensure your response is heard by decision makers in government and elsewhere. The conflict in the Middle East is driving rapid increases in fuel and fertiliser costs, with adverse flow-on impacts already being felt across farming businesses in our region. Availability, pricing and timing are becoming uncertain as we head into the season. FarmLink is working with industry bodies to provide real-time, on-ground insight — but we need your urgent input. This short survey (under 4 minutes) will capture: • Your current diesel and fertiliser needs • Future needs and current risks • Impacts on your farm 👉 surveymonkey.com/r/BJR9JF2 Your response will directly inform industry discussions and advocacy on behalf of farmers in Southern NSW. Please complete urgently as time is of the essence. All responses are confidential.

🌧️🚜 Machinery Day Going Ahead!🚜🌧️ Following the rain event earlier this week, where TAIC received over 80mm of rain, we’re pleased to confirm that FarmLink Machinery Day is still going ahead at the Temora Agricultural Innovation Centre this Friday. ✅ All exhibitors will still be on site ✅ Machinery will be on display ✅ Drone demonstrations will continue as planned at 11am and 1pm (and throughout the day) ✅ Coffee & food vendors will still be on site Exhibitors will have the opportunity to demonstrate machinery on gravel roads around the grounds, including the farm yards around the Treflè Shed. We expect most of the surface water to clear before the event, however, due to wet paddock conditions, the paddock demonstrations will not proceed. You will still have the opportunity to see the machinery up close, touch it, sit in the cab and ask plenty of questions. Exhibitors also have the opportunity to demonstrate their equipment later in March on the TAIC paddocks — speak with them on the day to find out when and register your interest to attend. It’s still a fantastic opportunity to compare equipment side-by-side, speak directly with industry experts, and connect with fellow farmers and suppliers. We look forward to seeing you there for a great day of innovation and connection. #FarmLink #FarmLinkMachineryDay #AgInnovation #AustralianAgriculture #SupportLocal

Final Wrap-Up from EvokeAG 2026 As @evokeAG wraps up in Melbourne, FarmLink Chairman Rob McColl reflects on the major themes and opportunities for FarmLink. Food security — ensuring Australia can continue to feed itself and contribute globally in an increasingly uncertain political landscape. Artificial Intelligence — not just as a buzzword, but as a practical tool to support better on-farm decision making and research outcomes. For FarmLink Research, CEO Shaughn Morgan — who attended EvokeAG alongside Rob — sees an exciting path ahead. Backed by more than 20 years of grower-led trials and research data, we’re in a strong position to harness AI and emerging digital tools to deliver even greater value to our members — with opportunities such as a dedicated FarmLink app now being explored (stay tuned for more details). 📷 Watch the final wrap-up video to hear Rob’s key takeaways and what this could mean for FarmLink members and the future of Australian agriculture. #FarmLink #EvokeAG2026 #FoodSecurity #AgInnovation #ArtificialIntelligence
