@brodenholland I setup my seeder with scatter plates up front. Put half starter out front and half under seed with canola. Can vrt from soil p grids if want. Same air lines can run scatter plates out back for mouse bait if needed.

Spreading MAP, some big rates trying to get out P levels back to 50 Colwell, 2nd year of 30kg with seeder and rest spread in beans and canola. Keeps the seeder more efficient and less seed burn issues

Harvest 2024 is completed and assigned to the record books after all the rain, harvest bans and fires. Our biggest production year on a very dry spring and below average rainfall. Cereal yields were exceptional, canola and lupins above average. Quality surprisingly held up well.

@ZwarFarms Russell, interested to hear how your shelbourne goes on the 10.90 I feel the sieve area is limiting factor on our 8.90. Struggle to get more than 75-80t/hr without overloading them. I am curios to know if the extra sieve length in the class 10 gives any more capacity?

Finally got harvesting mid afternoon yesterday after 6.5 day rain delay. Missed the storms last night but cool & gloomy again this morning. Week after week of dry sunny weather all year for driest season on record & now we've been stopped 50% of harvest with high moisture 🤦‍♂️

@agrobaz @gimmeahandle I think it’s inevitable that we will all end up with one eventually, I just need to pull the pin. To much pressure being put on expensive chemicals to do all the heavy lifting.

This might make for an interesting harvest….hopefully in a good way likely in an expensive way

@matt_norrie With such a short season I’d like to see a few inter comp games post GF, where comp winners play each other, get another game or 2 out of the season. BB v Mudgee Wombats for instance, I reckon that would be well attended.

@grassrootsag @brill_ag Enforcer CT with 170 000 seeds/kg planted at 2.2kg/ha on 10/4. Great vigour. Average of 25p/m2. Very thankful for no frosts to date! I was a bit worried about seed size and getting enough plants established. JD 1890 proving itself yet again!

@brill_ag Look forward to following these trials. Big seed this year has thinned populations. Hard to judge kg/ha when seed size is unknown. Seeds/kg 520TC 148,800 44Y94 155,800 PY421 206,200 Growers certainly confident to push canola deeper with early plant + the right seeding gear.

Large seed has major benefits on ordinary soil - seems a fit for VR seed size and depth (if possible).

@cropmad @Oscarthefarmer Agree John, really like the Needam ag seed tab combined with book recommended fan speed! Not many end up where they shouldn’t.

@Oscarthefarmer 🤔 Diffusers?? The one great thing I like about the 90 Series discs is not requiring them... With seed tabs and the horizontal exit everything just sits in the furrow to be run over by the press wheel. What am I missing Os 🧐?

First 400ha wheat with this new multicolour rig and all is well. Key learnings: •Diffusers are the bomb •Speed bounce is worse than you'd think (back to 13.5ha/hr) •Alsatians are not recommended tractor companions Good luck with #plant24 to the #croppers!

Our 1890 done about 30 000 ha haven’t had a disc hub bearing fail but have replaced all the press wheel bearings twice, 2 sets of needam bushes in press wheel and closing wheel arms after factory ones. We plant at 11kms

@LFelmingham @JamesSchubert87 @AMC_DirtDollars My John deere 1890 done over 15000 ha only ever changed a couple of disc hub bearings . Was changing yearly on my previous baldan box drill 😤

The updated Serafin running a lot quieter with hyd downforce. Couple of loose bolts and hydraulic lines but machine going well in the first 200ha.

@nick_bleasdale @MattMcDonald013 If you have a Raven Viper it will work for sure. There is an unlock you need that has quiet a few hrs demo before you have to pay, Import the file as RX map and away you go. All worked well on my Nitro with Viper Pro and intellispray (PWM)

IF i paddock mapped Weeds (Green on Brown) with a drone, Does a Patriot with Aim Command Flex have the ability to use that info to spot spray the weeds??
