I find it interesting that @woody_VA went from a complex blend for cover crops back to an oat based simplified strategy to make it more consistent. Cover crops have amplified the benefits of manure application.

@SteveTwynstra It equates to a tax on food for Canadian families. Everything the Canadian government is critical on with Trump tarriffs has been happening to 🇨🇦 fertilizer for years.
Domestic supply is the obvious long term answer. Speed up turn around to build capacity with reduced red tape.

Enough is ENOUGH!!! As the only G7 (sic) country with a fertilizer tariff it’s long time to stop penalizing Canadian farmers to the tune of 35%!!! And, no, we haven’t gotten it back as promised!!!

Approvals on pesticides can be aligned with USA, giving farmers quicker access to solutions for evolving problems. Pesticides solutions go unregistered in 🇨🇦 because of our market size.

Tile and CA's is relatable to many as and example. In the beef industry, we are still cutting out SRM to satisfy the regs for mad cow disease from 20 years ago.

I am a farmer, I know a lot of farmers, speak to many farmers, read farming publications and have never heard one say that the future of farming is at risk due to "red tape". Sounds like another push poll from @CFIB - the reason I quit being a member of the organization.

A new CFIB report reveals that Canada's farmers & food supply are under threat. Nearly 90% of farmers surveyed say the future of Canadian agriculture is at risk due to excessive red tape. Even more concerning, almost 70% say they would not advise the next generation to start or run a business. That should be a wake-up call. I asked the Minister when his Liberal government will stop strangling Canadian food production with red tape & higher taxes?

@crreesor @CFIB We aren't supposed to replace a tile outlet without approval. @AmandaBrodhagen has fought to allow farmers to maintain their choice to cut a tree without having to fill out paperwork. Building a barn? Better start a year ahead to get all the approvals. I agree with Barlow.
