@rhiannonlucyc I'm not a party representative, just a member. I am happy to defer on this issue, but I think I do believe that natural childbirth is preferable to unnecessary surgical intervention, and I'd like to see women far better supported in pregnancy. If that makes me a bad ally, soz.

Say we work until we are 80. People are wishing their grandchildren work longer than many of them even had to live before they retired. That is insane. Let the kids go to uni, learn what they want, and enjoy themselves. Why is the UK such full of miserable twats.

There’s irrefutable evidence that huge sums of taxpayer money are going towards hard left ideology. I had no idea the extent. How well hidden Big Woke is - but also in plain sight. You hear Tories call out woke while passing it £1 million under the counter. Very discombobulating.

@FarrierLibby @HigherEd_UK You overvalue "the new". None of what you say seems remotely thought through. It hinges on vagueness and abstraction which is exactly what managers want. In that kind of dialogue, they can get away with anything.

I don’t think any lecturer wants to eliminate ourselves or eliminate learning, we want to connect with students and make sure they are learning and developing in the most effective way. Times change and student needs/methods change.

@HigherEd_UK I get that, but students will always value that relationship.Moving from lectures doesn’t mean eradicating us.Students often find more value from their lecturers in small engaged groups.I just believe HE could consult with students & staff to revolutionise and bring us up to date

@FarrierLibby Sadly, it won't be up to lecturers as to whether they will be perceived by their managers as adding value in UK HE. They are literally the last ones consulted on such matters.

I believe the lecture structure has been past its sell by date for a while and benefits a few, but nobody has wanted to rock the boat. Maybe now is the time.
