A wealth tax on the top .15% of the richest families would generate $6.2 trillion in revenue. That could pay for: Universal childcare Millions of new homes Slashing child poverty Medicare for people aged 55+ Universal paid family leave Tuition-free community college And more.

@SarahWorkx No sure if we're supposed to feel bad for you, but my wife would say the no husband and no kids thing is why you are 1) smiling and 2) looking like you're 30 instead of 50

@MichaelRou72594 @GuntherEagleman @PeteButtigieg @grok You seem intelligent. Enlighten me, what lies am I talking about, did Biden not print $1.9 trillion in his first 3 months in office and after COVID was already under control? Was that not the reason Biden had the highest inflation since Carter?

Inflation has tripled from just one month ago, and it’s higher than when he took office. Not only has Trump failed to deliver on his central campaign promise to make life more affordable - he is actively, directly driving prices up.

@GuntherEagleman @PeteButtigieg @grok Ha! Well played Gunther, the question doesn't even need an answer. Also worth noting that Bidenflation was pure idiotic executive abuse of the Treasury and NOT a knee-jerk spike in energy prices as Buttajoke is calling out here

@PeteButtigieg Core CPI is 2.6% for March vs 2.5% in Feb. What Buttajoke is not telling you is his metric is solely driven by the spike in energy prices and is NOT the Fed's preferred measure of inflation.

@NickNehamas When 13 million people flood across the border you need to make some aggressive adjustments. Your extremely biased slant lays the blame squarely on the cleanup crew rather than the negligent gatekeepers who left the floodgates open

In interviews w/ the NYT, judges described overt pressure from their bosses. In a previously unreported whistle-blower complaint, one fired judge said he was told about granting asylum: “Maybe if you were Jewish and escaping Nazi Germany in 1943, you should get it.”

NEW: President Trump has turned the immigration courts into part of his vast deportation machine by pressuring judges to deny people asylum and firing those who do not comply. The asylum rate has fallen to its lowest rate in decades.

@NickNehamas Hmm and the "asylum rate" is something we care about? This sounds like something the NYT would recklessly propagate without context or supporting detail. I'm sure you would never do that tho... 🙄

This is MAGA nonsense. California has 16 MILLION more people than Florida. Of course we spend more on critical services. From 2015 through 2023, we paid $29 BILLION MORE a year to the feds in taxes than we get back — subsidizing red welfare states like Florida. And unlike Florida, we actually expanded Medicaid to cover people (broadly supported by the public). They left people uninsured. We didn’t. That’s the difference.
Stephen Moore@StephenMoore

California wants $137.5 BILLION in federal Medicaid funds, more than the entire budget of Florida. Gavin Newsom is pushing a 15% spending surge while the rest of the country foots the bill. This is a taxpayer bailout!

Over $86 Billion. That’s how much chaotic Trump fees are costing Americans every year. The President promised to lower costs “on day one,” but his failed policies have only left Americans to foot the bill.

California gas prices are absolutely outrageous—all to pay for someone else’s stupid war. But any driver knows that this isn’t entirely new. Gas in this state has been way too expensive for way too long. The days of Trump and Big Oil screwing Californians are numbered.

Since Trump took office, over 352,000 Federal employees have been fired, resigned, or retired and were not replaced. The Federal workforce is smaller today than at any point since 1966.
