Ok ya'll after reading all these takes, I've got a thought experiment. Who would you rather have 1000 of in your town:

One of the areas in which I differ quite a bit from a lot of folks on the right is the discourse on Mexican immigrants. I think most of the hatred for Mexicans comes from a terminally online component of the right that lives in cities/suburbs and doesn't have much actual interaction with Mexican immigrants. Because boy, once you've worked a blue collar job or been to some cookouts with these guys, a lot of the arguments being used against them just seem completely ridiculous. I work in the oilfield. A huge percentage of my coworkers and friends here are Mexican. These dudes are overwhelmingly Christian, super family oriented, incredibly hard working people. They go shooting or do rodeo on the weekends. They essentially personify all the values that the right champions. So it blows my mind that these guys specifically have somehow become the boogeyman to a large percentage of rightwing people, despite being aligned with them on almost everything. In my experience they are solidly good and freedom loving people putting in a ton of honest work to build a good life for their families. They are honestly doing a better job of perpetuating the American dream than a lot of white folks....like I'd rather have 1000 of these dudes in my town than 1000 white communist blue hair types.

No. God I hate that I have to explain this basic concept to adults. Vulnerability is NOT pathetic. Wanting to be fucked, whether you're a man or a woman, is not pathetic. It's wanting to feel loved in a state of vulnerability. In a sense, women and gays *do* get off to the idea of themselves being pathetic, by allowing themselves to get fucked. But that doesn't mean they're inherently pathetic. Homelander is pathetic because he doesn't know how to work around hos vulnerability. He's never had to. The best he could do is just...give up. Let another man own him. That's pathetic. That's not comparable to homo or women.

People don't realize but this is his first time being a human. Traits like courage, dignity, bravery, BALLS, are earned. Yes Homelander was this cunning savage who had all the aura in the world.
