@UpIndependent The last No Kings Protest in Idaho Falls was pretty peaceful. They flew lots of 🇺🇸 and generally were well behaved. Some were insulting and rude, and one protester tried to antagonize a nice guy with an AR-15. I probably should revise my estimate to 500 people on Saturday.

@FatTireBikeFun The majority are paid protesters so we shall see. I would love to see their numbers decrease. They disrupt downtown businesses as well.

The No Kings protest will be at 11 AM on Saturday 28JAN26 in Idaho Falls at the Idaho Falls Greenbelt Bandshell near the USPS. I will hang around afterwards to video record people leaving, the trash they leave behind, and I will bring trash bags to ask them to clean up.

@idaho_now Remember that you are responsible for every bullet out of your gun. The maximum effective range of a 22lr is ~50 yards, but ~5 yards if both combatants are moving. The maximum range of a 22lr round is ~500 yards and you are responsible for it.

This post is specifically for the " No Kings" protesters. I hear some of you will be "armed" on Saturday. Just a word of advice... You hold the gun straight not sideways.

@UpIndependent The last Idaho Falls No Kings Protest had over 1,300 people according to the news reports. If my guess of 100 is right, they lost over 90% of their strength.

About two weeks ago, Mojtaba Khamenei, Iran’s new supreme leader opened a premium account on X. Through this account, he is encouraging the continuation of the war and revenge against the United States. In other words, he is inciting violence. It goes without saying that Mojtaba himself, as well as the IRGC, are under sanctions. A premium account costs about eight dollars. I recommend that X disclose from which bank account the Supreme Leader bypassed U.S. sanctions and managed to transact in dollars. X may be inadvertently facilitating payments in violation of sanctions. At the same time, I would recommend that X review all accounts associated with Hamas, Hezbollah, the Houthis, and the IRGC that it maintains, to ensure they are not being used to circumvent sanctions.

On Saturday for the No Kings Protest at Idaho Falls, my prediction is 100 protesters, with 70 Golden Oldies, 30 Useful Idiots, and 0 Celebrities. Useful idiots: These are the rank-and-file marchers — the SSRI-addled blue-hairs, the bored college students, the angry suburban moms, and so forth. You may even spot a few old-fashioned romantic couples holding hands and thrilling together in the courageous, historic ambience of the march! Golden oldies: The migration is also known as “Boomer Daycare,” and this is for a good reason. You should easily be able to spot these aging hippies and angry seniors with too much time and fear-of-becoming-irrelevant on their hands. Celebrities: No Kings displays in larger cities are often the site of appearances by pampered millionaire artists who want to show their street cred. Organizers are always thrilled to have them, as they lend visibility and value to the event.

@CynicalPublius Thank you. Good advice. My Bonneville County Idaho Veterans Cycling News (BCI-VCN) LLC idea isn't launched yet but it has low expenses and local news isn't focusing on things in Bonneville County. I think that I have a market but it won't be viable until I prove it's viable.

RE: Thoughts for ETSing Military Members One of the great misconceptions I had as a career Army officer was the conceit that the day I retired I was fully qualified to run a business—any business. I knew I had great management and leadership skills. I figured all I needed to do was take a one credit accounting course and I was ready to roll as a CEO. I know many of my peers felt the same way. Gosh were we all wrong. As I culminate my second career as a corporate lawyer, I realize that this is a message I should share with career military NCOs and officers who are facing an upcoming ETS date. YES, you have excellent management and leadership skills. YES, you have dealt with stress that most people will never experience. All of these skills and experiences DO give you a leg up on being a business leader—they do. But let me tell you ten incredibly important things the military never taught you: 1. Profit and loss. No profit? No business. 2. Managing personnel under the incredibly complex web of state and federal employment and HR policies and laws. 3. Accounting. You need to deeply understand balance sheets, profit/loss statements & statements of cash flows. (If your business is big enough, a good CFO matters.) 4. Navigating the myriad of exceptionally complex corporate and securities laws that govern any business entity. 5. Dealing with employees who expect to be treated with kid gloves. That underperforming employee? You can’t tell him/her to drop and give you 20. 6. Creating a product or service that people ACTUALLY VALUE and therefore WANT TO PURCHASE. 7. Marketing and sales. You have to make people want to buy what you are selling. 8. Dealing with ruthless, cutthroat, no-holds-barred competition. 9. Keeping boards of directors and stockholders happy. 10. IT. Maybe you did IT stuff in the military, but running digital commerce for the average civilian is not the same thing. I’m not writing this to scare you. I’m writing this to tell you to not be overconfident when you take off the uniform and put on a suit. You DO possess management and leadership skills that are a valuable and rare commodity. But be honest about what you don’t know, and study up on it. Take classes. Educate yourself. Read. Assemble a team of advisors who will walk the walk with you—a good accountant; a good business lawyer; a good financial advisor; regulatory compliance specialists in your business area; PR, marketing and IT advisors. Trust and rely on these people. Most especially, be honest about what you don’t know. If you are starting out working for someone else, don’t blow smoke in an interview—be confident about your strengths, but don’t pretend to know what you don’t know. You have done amazing things in uniform. If you train yourself in the areas the military did not train you in, you WILL succeed in business. Good luck.

My hypothesis is that they will start at 11 AM and be done promptly at 1 PM because they are on the clock. You will get regular posts here and can track the protest project as it winds down. Last time they blocked the bridge (didn't figure out that people walk on the bridge crosswalks), had a LOT of 🇺🇸 flying (I appreciated it), and the perverts were hidden in the back. Moving to the Idaho Falls Greenbelt Bandshell so pedestrians and cyclists can get through is a good public affairs tactic to avoid blowback on Election Day. East Idaho News will be there. They lean about as left as downtown San Francisco and I am interested in their reports to see the difference.

@FatTireBikeFun Can you give me a time to show up as I really don’t do well hanging out with them. I don’t want to be counting in their numbers. But I am willing to do clean up as I know what happened last time. Give me a location if you can or I will show up around 1:30 and wait until it ends.
