Correction Update Ok, the original link about this event was click bait. The Bishop didn't refuse communion as he never even distributed. He sat there. (& I'm no fan of Bishop Martin's ideas, but we have to be honest). The priests said they didn't see the family. I know of one of the priests and he's legit. If he said he didn't see them I believe him. Others told me the exact same thing. Before Easter lots of people were going to the rail. It was just recent that an announcement was made to not use it and even then there were people using the rail. So even in this situation others wanted to do it but didn't. The family in the video go to the rail every week. Again, others said this too. Nothing was stagged. Just usually more than one family is at the rail.

@HankDietle @Sensus_Fidelium It is quite believable as a priest would attend to the each communicant in front of him and might not even notice what is going on on the other side of the church.

@Sensus_Fidelium I am very sympathetic to the position of the priests that Bishop Martin has put them in. However, it is not believable that they were not aware of the family at the rail, especially if that family (and others) continued using the rail after the bishop’s edit went into effect.

@Dog_W_A_Torch Only #1 above is a fact. #2 is highly questionable. The clergy are terrified of the bishop but they aren’t blind.

UPDATE: the following facts have come to light: 1. The Bishop did not offer a holy communion to anyone he remained seated for the distribution. 2. The clergy that were distributing holy communion did not see the people at the altar rail. Believe half of what you see and none of what you hear. While our Bishop has raised much attention, we should not slander him.

On the Solemnity of St George, praying for the Christians of the Holy Land and Lebanon, and for the Scouts: "Extolling your might, O Lord, we humbly implore you, that, as Saint George imitated the Passion of the Lord, so he may lend us ready help in our weakness. Through our Lord Jesus Christ, your Son, who lives and reigns with you in the unity of the Holy Spirit, God, for ever and ever. Amen." – Collect for the Solemnity of St George (23 April) flic.kr/p/2s95w7p Stained glass window from the church of St Boniface in Brussels.

Today, we honor two celebrations: first, Tuesday of the Third Week of Easter; second, is the feast of SAINT ANSELM (1033-1109). He was born in Aosta, Italy, and died in Canterbuy, England. Where he was Archbishop and defended the rights of the Church against the English kings.

Excerpt of a prayer by St. Anselm: "Let me give love, that I may have love; nay, rather, because I am loved, let me love Thee more and more, that I may all the more be loved by Thee. Let my heart's will be one with Thine; let my one sole aim be all with Thee; . . .

U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops
Most Rev. Kevin C. Rhoades, Bishop of @diocesefwsb, on the consecration of the United States to the Sacred Heart of Jesus. On June 11, 2026, the U.S. bishops will consecrate our nation to the Sacred Heart of Jesus as part of the Church's celebration of the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence. The Church has a beautiful and rich tradition of devotion to the Sacred Heart, with papal documents, theological works, and spiritual reflections that can guide Catholics in the months leading up to the consecration. Prayer resources, a novena, and ways for parishes to participate are available at ow.ly/FmVf50YLx8U.

@mgearthman Well here is a certificate type form for individual consecration to the Most Sacred Heart. Wouldn’t it be great if each parishioner participated by their persona consecration to the Most Sacred Heart according to the formula of St. Margaret Mary? mothersforpriests.org/wp-content/upl…

Here’s the difficulty. The Council of Trent decreed that one may not confess genera, one must confess species for an integral confession. What does this mean? It means you can’t merely confess “I broke the 6th Commandment 5 times” or “I committed acts of lust twice.” The species of the act done is what must be confessed. Sometimes you have to inquire to help a person make an integral confession. However, it’s extremely delicate for some sins (and not just those against the 6th Commandment). A confessor must be extremely prudent in these matters. Any inquiry should be minimal and the reason for the inquiry should be explained, and the minimal nature of the response to the inquiry should also be made very clear.
