I can acknowledge the fact that Africans did sell losing tribes in war to whites for slavery, but the fact that the whites were there looking to buy slaves still shows misconduct.

Funny enough if you look at history most of the time they did pay for them with guns and liquor so that they could go fight the other tribes and then sell them as slaves in both the European and Islam slave trade. Honestly, African history with outside forces is insanely complex, not just... what Hollywood traditionally shows. Heck, did you know it was actually rare for Europeans to set foot in African soil over the fact that they could barely survive walking in the terrain so they just hired tribes around the oceans to guide some in or just do the whole things for them.
