Those Who Don't Like The Pope. The POTUS has bared his fangs on the Pope. He said he doesn't like the Pope. This is by far the most innocuous of all the "missiles" he hurled at Pope Leo IV. Not being liked by people is the least concern of any good leader. Trump ordinarily doesn't like who doesn't like him, the Pope on the other hand has a divine mandate to like who doesn't like him. What would be strange and deeply disturbing is if the pope doesn't like Trump because Trump doesn't like him. Any warring president of any country that likes any Pope because such Pope secretly or publicly supports his war campaigns should actually be the Pope while such Pope should be the president, unfit to sit at the chair of St Peter. Hitler didn't like the Pope. Napoleon didn't like the pope. I don't think Putin likes the pope even though he hasn't verbalized it like Trump. When this set of people didn't and don't like any Pope for not supporting their wars, it is a beauty on the conscience of the Pope. We are proud to have popes that are not liked for refusing to endorse and support wars. May I remind us that Trump and his likes wouldn't have liked Jesus Christ too for the same reason they don't like no pope. During Jesus' time on earth, Israel was in it's worst occupation by a foreign and pagan power, something that insulted their religious sensibility and identity to the highest level. Being God's people and being under the subjugation of another people whose gods are idols was a theological and spiritual nightmare, quagmire and dilemma for the Jews. Their need for a messiah was primarily heightened by such 'evil'. They needed a messiah who will come with divine power, declare a war on the Romans and decimate them. Imagine the disappointment they got when Jesus strolled into the scene, claiming to be the messiah by words and miraculous power, yet least bothered by the Romans. Instead of breathing out fire and fury against their enemy, he was saying things like: "give to Caesar what belongs to Caesar bla bla bla" "Those who live by the sword will die by the sword" "love your enemies". The Jews wanted WAR, Jesus was preaching peace. How could they like him? Let alone accept him as messiah? Iran having a Nuclear weapon isn't less frightening or concerning now as the Romans were for the Jews back. Jesus refused to endorse or encourage war or violence of any sort, rather he discouraged war with the Romans. Why do you think they never accepted him as messiah? If Jesus were the Pope today, Trump wouldn't like him, in fact Trump doesn't like Jesus at all because the pope is not just representing Him, but has taken the same position as Christ did back then and would right now. If Jesus were to sit at the UN today as an arbiter, I'm sure many MAGA christians around the world would picture him condemning Iran, calling them evil and asking everyone to support Trump and bomb the devil out of Iran if they refuse to surrender and agree to everything US and Israel demand. The bible Jesus, the real Jesus would rather tell every Nation with nuclear bombs to surrender them to the UN for distruction and tell those intending to go nuclear to end the idea. He will sue for peace by calling on all sides to sheath their swords and dialogue with honesty, sincerity and love. Guess who will leave the meeting disappointed and not liking Jesus? So why is the Pope not visiting Nigeria? Is it a lack of invitation? Or the so called "Security Challenges" or "Farmer-Herder Clashes due to climate change"? Or does The pope also believe there is no Christian genocide in Nigeria because other Muslims are also being killed by Muslim Extremists? I don't know. But what I have read is that the pope is scheduled to visit Algeria, Cameroon, Equatorial Guinea and Angola. Surprisingly Nigeria is not on his list. Meanwhile Nigeria is number one on the list of countries where Christians are persecuted.  We cannot say The Pope doesn't know what has been happening and is happening to Christians in Nigeria because according to reports he has visited Nigeria about 9 times from 2001 to 2016. And for each of those years there were series of attacks on Christians by Radical Jihadists and Terrorists groups. So we know that the pope is not just a stranger to the truth, he knows what has been happening in Nigeria.  What Nigeria needs now goes beyond words and prayers offered after every attack.  Let me mention a few those attacks. 2001 1. Kano Religious Riot (October): Violence erupted in protest against the U.S. invasion of Afghanistan; over 300 Christians were killed and multiple churches destroyed 2. Jos Religious Riots (September): Clashes between Christians and Muslims in Plateau State led to the burning of numerous churches and mosques, with a death toll estimated between 500 and 1,000. 2003:  3. Emergence of Boko Haram occurred in November 2003, primarily targeting state symbols like police stations, military posts and also Churches and Christian communities. 2008:  4. Jos Religious Riots (November): Triggered by local election results, religious rioting between Christians and Muslims resulted in 381 deaths and the destruction of several places of worship. 2010: Targeted Attacks & Massacres 5. Jos Religious Crisis (Early 2010): A resurgence of religious rioting in Jos led to approximately 992 deaths. 6. Mazah Village Attack (July): Muslim Fulani Jihadists launched an overnight attack on the Christian village of Mazah, north of Jos, burning a church and killing eight people, including family members of a local pastor. 7. Christmas Eve Bombings (December): Multiple bomb blasts in Jos targeted Christian neighborhoods on Christmas Eve.  2012:  8. The Peak of Church Bombings This year saw a systematic campaign by Boko Haram specifically targeting Christian worship services. 9. Christmas Day Attack (December): A Catholic Church in Madalla, Niger State, was bombed by Bokoharam during Christmas service killing 37 people. St Theresa Catholic Church. 10. Mubi/Yola Attacks (January): Coordinated attacks on churches and Christian owned businesses left 27 Christians dead. 11. Easter Sunday Bombing (April): A church in Kaduna was bombed on Easter, killing 38 people. 12. Kaduna Church Bombings (June): Three churches in Wusasa and Sabon Gari were bombed in a single day, resulting in 12–19 deaths and 80 injuries.  13. Okene Church Shooting (August): Religious extremists attacked a Deeper Life Church in Kogi State during a service, killing 19 people, including the pastor  2016:  17. Southern Kaduna Attacks: Ongoing violence by Fulani Jihadists militants against Christian farming communities in Southern Kaduna resulted in numerous deaths and displaced thousands. There are hundreds of thousands of Christians in IDP camps all over Nigeria. I don't know about you, but If I was the Pope. Nigeria would be a priority. But that's just me. I am sure he has his  own priorities.

@AfamDeluxo Trump is a better defender of the Christian faith than even this Pope. That's the reality as we see it.

Hopefully, this entire situation between Trump and the Pope serves as a wake-up call, pushing the papacy to take the ongoing persecution of Christians in Nigeria far more seriously and respond with greater urgency than before.
