Ottawa overcame so many injuries that I don't think you can call making the playoffs a totally failed season. All hope was lost a few months ago. They were in every game but to be swept like that and have 7/18/24/72 struggle so hard is super disappointing. Make some changes.

Still can't believe Detroit traded Hronek at 2023 trade deadline because they didn't want to pay him. Their pro scouting on defenceman is the main reason they are 10 years without playoffs. Their amateur scouts are great at drafting D, but pro scouts have made some huge errors.

Having Jack Hughes as a top 2 redraft for the 2019 draft is INSANE 1 & 2 is Seider & Caufield and you could make genuine arguments for both being #1 in a redraft

Nate is talking about the D zone. I muttered curse words to myself when he killed his 2nd or 3rd offensive zone possession sequence with bad passing. That was one of my biggest concerns.

Buffalo probably wanted Zub+ from Ottawa. Per reports, they were pretty set on getting a RD for right now. Would've been tough to move Zub. People don't understand how important he is. Leaves you with Jensen, Matinpalo and Yakemchuk for the right side. Maybe you move him if you know you can get a legitimate replacement, but that's a ton of assets out the door. Would also have to dump a contract. Tough timing. There are a ton of other great fits reportedly available but they'll probably want to see what happens in FA first.

Watching this again, I don't think it will result in a suspension. At first glance, it's a dangerous hit with clear intent against a vulnerable opponent. However, if you slow it down, you can see a Panthers logo. This means that the threshold for suspension is simply not met

Sabres will be a disaster again this upcoming season, I’d keep an eye on them, at some point Tage, Dahlin, Tuch and co. are going to be like “I want out”
