🇯🇵 A foreigner living in Japan is bringing a group of tourists to Niigata to "investigate" the shrine fires and debunk Japanese concerns that these fires could be manmade.
These are sacred cultural and religious sites for us Japanese. Showing up with outsiders to film, poke around, and tell locals they're "panicking over nothing" comes across as incredibly tone-deaf, dismissive and disrespectful. This is especially bad right now when public anxiety over these incidents is real.
Japan has its own police, firefighters, and journalists perfectly capable of handling this. Foreigners turning serious local worries into content or a "truth-seeking" trip with tourists just makes things look worse and fuels more distrust.
I ask people to reconsider. Respect the country you live in and let Japanese people manage their own cultural heritage. If you don't, we will contact local authorities to prevent this from taking place.
I would never show up to your Muslim countries, for example, and try making documentaries to prove that Muslims are wrong about this or that. Those are not my countries and Japan is not your country either - you are a foreigner here and your friends are tourists.
I ask people to use common sense here.

Subnautica 2 is a pacifist ideology woven into a game.
Players have noticed you cannot defend yourself against attacking fish. Not even in self defense. Only passive means are available.
This was by design. You can't kill anything because the devs feel it would support gun violence and aspects of colonialism:
"Subnautica is one vote towards a world with less guns. A reminder that there is another way forward."
"We want people to feel like they're learning to adapt to the world, rather than being a conqueror or dominator."
"We aren't a killing game. Go play Sons of the Forest or something if you want to kill."
The anti-violence stance got stronger from Subnautica 1 -> 2, which now has a complete "no kill" policy even when the fish can still kill *you*.
