2 months ago while in Nigeria, I was invited by FID, Force Intelligence department Abuja for questioning about the source of my wealth. Went there by 8am, in less than an hour, 30 minutes, I was back. After the questioning, my intelligent, well articulated and bold response to all the questions asked dassled the officers interrogating me so much so that one of the officers questioning me said to me, how is it that you're this young, yet you have your life figured out, money and family, and you're so bold and intelligent to give apt explanation on every single questions asked, I responded, I worked on myself, and I'm still doing so till date. When I as about leaving, the second officer after the interrogation and questioning turned and said to me, yes, my colleague is fascinated by your success, intelligence and demeanor but I'm more fascinated by how deeply your fiancee loves & trust you, "he was privileged to experience a few show of love expressed when they came to invite me especially the part my fiancee insisted she must follow me to their headquarters". He continued, my wife gives me problems, and don't trust me, I keep begging her every single day, he said, the first question I asked him; do you cheat on her, he nodded, I looked at him with a show of concern and made a simple statement in a subtle, friendly and sarcastic tone, then cheat like a man and not like a coward. I won't go detailed on every conversation I had with him but I shared this story for a reason. Most men cheat but a few cheat with dignity. Don't judge me yet, read to the end— I'm a one woman man, never cheated in a relationship neither will I in marriage. However, I saw a post where a Toyosi Etim Effiong, the wife of Nollywood actor Daniel Etim Effiong who publicly declared that her husband cheating isn't a deal breaker for her. Reading through the comments, I saw 90% of the bashes coming from women condemning such public condoning and bravo extension to men. I'm sure most women bashing her are pained of the fact she publicly declared the unspoken reality of many women in marriage. Yes, no woman wants to be cheated on, but most won't mind being cheated on provided the man isn't: - Irrational about it - Don't make a public show of it - Is a high status men who have other things to compensate - Cheat responsibly & smartly Realistically, if cheating were a deal breaker, most married women would no longer be in their marriages, women don't just want it voiced out, show off or at least not from a man who doesn't deserve a show of grace. I don't encourage any lady to condone or make excuses for a cheating man. It's disrespectful and demeaning. If a man profess love and sexual exclusivity to a woman, maturity, dignity and honor demands that you keep to that profession. If you're man, claim that you're polygamous in nature and that your mind is so weak to control your sexual organ and stick it only to your legal wife. Then be bold enough to place it on the table from the first day of the relationship or before getting married to her that you don't owe her sexual exclusivity and that at any point in time you feel like, you can take in a second wife. That's the way of a brave and high value man. Not going about sneaking into every pants and using dumb animalistic theories to explain away your indiscipline and irresponsibility. Don't be a coward, be a man and state what you can give or not give in a relationship or marriage, if it's okay with the woman, she will go in with you by choice, if it's not, she takes a walk into another man's world who would give her what she seeks.
