Ik mocht hier gratis naar de toilet. Ondenkbaar in Nederland waar zelfs een hond gratis mag urineren op straat, maar de politie en boa’s staan te popelen om boetes uit te schrijven als jij als mens even moet. Laat dat even bezinken. Ik stond hier in Spanje, vroeg in m’n beste Spaans of ik even naar de wc mocht. “Si si, arriba.” Geen moeilijk gedoe, geen muntjes, geen chagrijn. Gewoon menselijkheid. Ondertussen zit je in Nederland, tank je je auto vol en mag je daarna nog even €0,70 tot €1 aftikken om te mogen plassen. Heb je een gezin met vier kinderen? Reken maar uit. Even stoppen langs de weg kost je zo een paar euro. Gastvrijheid? Ver te zoeken. En ja, ik snap de ondernemer ook wel. Het leven is in Nederland simpelweg onbetaalbaar geworden. Huur, energie, belastingen… alles rijst de pan uit. Dus zelfs een toiletbezoek moet gemonetized worden om het hoofd boven water te houden. Dat is geen onwil, dat is overleven. Hier in Spanje krijg je bij je drankje vaak nog een tapa. Gewoon, met liefde gemaakt. Iets extra’s. Iets menselijks. In Nederland is dat inmiddels science fiction. Maar hé, we blijven vrolijk belasting betalen terwijl het geld over de balk gaat. De “groene droom”, miljarden naar het buitenland, en ondertussen wordt het hier voor gezinnen en ondernemers steeds minder leefbaar. Mensen zoals Rob Jetten gaan je niet helpen, die gaan alleen maar meer halen. En ondertussen? Een hond mag gratis z’n behoefte doen op straat (ja, netjes opruimen natuurlijk), maar jij als mens wordt behandeld alsof je een overtreding bént als je even moet. Prioriteiten, iemand? De criminaliteitscijfers worden ondertussen lekker geframed zodat iedereen braaf blijft, maar online gebeurt er van alles waar niemand grip op krijgt. Maar goed, pak vooral die wildplasser aan. Dat is de echte dreiging. (Sarcasme uit.) Ik geniet hier even van de simpele dingen: gastvrijheid, menselijkheid en een toilet zonder pinautomaat. En eerlijk? Ik ga mijn business t.z.t. ook uit Nederland halen. Alleen al om Jetten en consorten niet nog verder te spekken. Misschien wordt het tijd dat we onszelf eens afvragen: voor wie doen we dit allemaal nog?

HighGuard honest review after ~12h of play ⬇️ 🟢 After understanding the game flow, maps, and buildings, the game is… incredibly fun. 🟢 Gunplay was meh at the start, but becomes excellent once mastered. Not Apex, but same feeling. 🟢 If matched against a team that knows how to play, it’s almost constant action. 🟢 Innovative, super fresh, and super competitive. 🟢 3v3 felt like a mistake at first, but once real matches start, it’s the right number. 🟡 Not a fan of bases taking damage when you fail an attack, but I get why: avoiding 1h+ games (balanced match ~45 min atm). 🟡 Some guns are meh and not enjoyable, others are super cool. 🟡 Shotguns are overpowered (one-shot in elite quality). 🔴 Performance is meh, with some questionable technical choices (Nanite tessellation?). 🔴 DLSS without DLAA is a mistake. DLSS is good tech, but without DLAA-quality it hurts sharpness. 🔴 Gun crosshairs are blurry (DLSS/TSR) 🔴 Mining mini-game isn’t very enjoyable, would be better without the QTE imo. 🟢 The comeback potential of the game mode is excellent. 🔴 Visibility is bad with heavy VFX, sometimes it’s hard to understand what’s going on. 🟡 Sound is weird: you hear far away very well (cool), but your own character making almost no sound in FPP makes it hard to judge your footprint. 🟡 More guns, loot variety, and tools would be awesome. 🟡 Character abilities can be cool but lack depth imo. 🔴 Character design is atrocious. 🟢 Level art is excellent. 🟢 Each map having a unique fortress design is a huge win. 🟢 Level design is well handled. 🔴 Massive lack of QoL features and customization options. 🔴 Performance is still meh for a competitive shooter. Note : The game clearly suffers from hate because some people decided *before release* that it would be bad. Without that bias, I’m convinced the Steam score would be much higher. I’m honestly angry at influencers who start the game, play one match, and put zero effort into giving it a fair chance. Your job is not to surf trends, but to actually test the game so people can trust your judgment. Objectively, and yes I’m targeting content creators: you’ve done an insanely bad job reviewing this game. Yes, it’s not perfect (like most releases). But it’s VERY far from the disaster some reviews describe. You have the right to not like a game. You do NOT have the right to publish a “full review” without actually reviewing it. That’s unfair. That’s sad. And that’s concerning for the future of gaming. Shame.

@helpdeskert Ik moet eerlijk zeggen dat de meeste programma’s op tv me echt niks brengen, tenzij je echt voor entertainment kijkt. Persoonlijk kijk ik liever documentaires of films en series waar je iets van kunt leren, maar ieder zijn ding natuurlijk.

Sommige mensen zeggen weleens: wij kijken geen tv meer. Dan denk ik meestal: Jaja, dat zal wel... iedereen kijkt tv! Toen ben ik er bij onszelf eens op gaan letten, en wat blijkt? Wij kijken ook geen tv meer 🤔 We zitten of achter de computer/laptop te werken of te gamen, of we kijken YouTube, Netflix, Videoland of noem maar een streamingdienst. Reguliere tv nooit. Geen praatprogramma's, geen nieuws, geen spelprogramma's, niks van dat alles. Als we daar iets van willen zien, kijken we het terug op het internet of een streamingdienst. Dus mijn aanname was onjuist. Kijk jij nog tv? En is reguliere mainstream-tv nog wel relevant? Of kunnen we inmiddels makkelijk zonder?
