This is pretty messed up. As pointed out by Donato Giancola on FB, it seems the new printing of The One Ring is just a flipped cutout of a previous borderless printing (artist credit: Marta Nael) with the runes removed, then plopped onto a Dan Frazier background. 😡

It’s unfair to say this is Dan Frazier stealing art when it’s much more likely this was a managerial decision. A long-time Magic artist isn’t just gonna blow up his career over a UB card. There’s no way this wasn’t a decision made by an AD/Wizards themselves

@MinModulation My biggest personal problem with the translation is that the output is way too purple; flowery and obscures meaning.
It makes the mix of sci-fi (e.g. the Garlaen tech) feel extremely out of place too when juxtaposed to the faux old-timey language.

Careless translation is just kind of stupid. Early on in FFXIV, they had altered some characters personalities from Japanese, only to run into problems when they had become major characters later down the line in the first expansion, because they lacked the necessary foresight.
