Sadly, many of these #paddocktrees are nearing the term of their natural life and there is little recruitment around them to replace them. Many are also suffering from dieback disease, or high loads of parasites and predators, due to their isolation from other healthy trees. 3/4

At first I thought it was a Christmas tree but turns out it was a Sarcopteryx stipata in #fruit, which have a cool green embryo in cross section, surrounded by an orange aril. #PlantBank #rainforests
