We need more doctors and we need more GPs. That’s why from today, we’ve opened up applications for more universities to train more doctors across the country. This is on top of the extra places we have already announced. When fully rolled out, this will mean 1,800 more medical places at uni than before we were elected. We’re delivering three times the number of new medical places than the Coalition, in half the time.

UA supports the government’s focus on building stronger TAFE–university pathways. A more connected tertiary system will help Australians move more easily between vocational and higher education, build skills faster and meet the workforce needs of a growing economy.
