PwC and KPMG exit Russia. We call for E&Y and Deloitte to follow. Don’t be complicit.

Putin is fighting two wars, one very deadly in the short term, but I believe Ukraine will remain free in the longer term. Russia is losing in the long term.

@cosmicpinot @RabeeTourky I’m not often in agreement with Rabee but I’m worried this may be counterproductive. How are we going to support exchanges that can favor new oppositions? These people are likely to be our only real allies within Russia. We must fight for freedom, not fight Russians.

The government shut down the site that published the letter of >7000 Russian scientists pleading to stop the war. A new website was launched instead: t-invariant.org_))). .

The potential cost of anti-war protests in Russia is 15 years of imprisonment after Duma has passed the legislation in a special gathering on March 4. Nevertheless, thousands of people were protesting on Sunday across the country.

@HOnyshchenko Even so, cutting off everybody indiscriminately is a bad policy and just a wrong thing to do.

@cosmicpinot @sterndavidi @RabeeTourky Academics in Russia are the people who are most equipped to oppose massively effective state propaganda. They are under pressure from Putin's regime, and instead of being alienated should be supported by their colleagues in other countries. 2/3

@cosmicpinot @sterndavidi @RabeeTourky More specifically, my concern with the statement is that the set of those academics in Russia who will suffer from the suspension of all ties and connections intersects with the set of those academics with who ANU identifies. 1/3

7,000 Russian scientists signed a letter against Putin's war. "Our country made a decisive contribution to the victory over Nazism. Now it's instigating a new war. We demand an immediate halt to all military operations against Ukraine." Amazing courge. trv-science.ru/en/2022/02/we-…
