My husband raised my daughter since she was 7. She's 28 now and always called him "dad." Then her real father got out of prison and came back into her life. Suddenly my husband got jealous. She stopped calling him dad, started using his first name, and he completely switched up. He ignores her now, pulled out of co-signing her car, and said her "real dad" should handle it. Imagine raising a child for 20+ years just to throw her away over pride. Is love really that conditional? Now I'm stuck playing mediator in a family being torn apart by ego. Am I wrong for being disgusted by his behavior?

I remembered seeing an episode of LA Law about Tourette’s and I managed to find it. This is from 1991. So 25 years ago.
Interestingly it uses the “n word” and the explains that the person can’t help it.
