I've been unimpressed with Witch Hat Atelier so far. Right from the start it lays it on really thick with Coco's constant "Wow isn't magic AMAZING!" dialogue as if to try to convince the audience that what it's showing is interesting when most of it is pretty bog-standard.

I liked Season 1 of Frieren, but I do think it’s a bit overrated. Respectfully, I don’t think Season 1 or 2 should be top 1 and 2 anime of all time on MAL. Season 2 has felt slow to me and the plot hasn’t progressed much. That said, I haven’t watched the latest episode yet, and I’m seeing people call it "the best anime episode of 2026", so we’ll see.
