'Twas the night before launch at Hub.xyz, when all through the abode, not a creature was stirring, not even a node. The servers were primed with the greatest of care, In hopes that new builders soon would be there; The CULT were nestled all snug in their beds; While visions of bandwidth danced in their heads; And Icea with his milk, and us touching grass, Had just settled our brains from grinding our ass, When out on the dashboard arose such a clatter, We sprang to the terminals to see what was the matter. Away to the backend we flew in a flash, Pulled up all the metrics and checked every hash. The glow of dashboards, all polished and bright, Gave proof of a mission done solidly right: To connect all the makers, the doers, the dream, In one living, learning, collaborative stream. When what to our wondering eyes should appear, But a flood of new cultmembers from far and from near! With founders and freelancers, creators galore, Developers, artists—and hundreds more! With a leader so driven, so focused and based, It had to be HUB that was raising the stakes. More rapid than push-notes the vision it came, And he whistled and shouted and called them by name: “Now AceSuke! Now Wentwort! Now Sterling! Now Leha! On Raheem! On Mr. Cryp, Quasar and Bukky! To the top of the homepage! To the heart of the call! Now innovate, innovate, innovate all!” As sparks of new startups fly into the night, So the network kept growing with boundless delight. And then, in a moment, we heard through the feed, The buzz of new projects at lightning-fast speed. As we refreshed every screen, and were turning around, Down the pipeline new partners came tech-savvy and sound. They were dressed all in vision, from their heads to their shoes, And their code—it was spotless, with no bugs to accuse. A bundle of talent they launched on the site, Their eyes how they sparkled with future so bright! Their teams how they gathered, their momentum how strong, Their plans were so bold they just couldn’t go wrong! They spoke not a word, but went straight to their work, Filled pipelines with progress—no slacking, no shirk. And laying a roadmap, then touching some grass, Up the rankings they rose—thank you mission, kick ass! And then, in a twinkling, across every screen, We saw collaboration like never we’d seen. As we logged out at last, with our hearts feeling warm, The platform stood ready to change the new norm. And the cult then exclaimed, as the metrics took flight: “Happy building to all—and to all a good night!” 🧠🎄 @hubxyz

Not everyone finished. But those who did, They're now part of something exclusive. Mission 1 is done and a selected group of early participants just secured a permanent place in @hubxyz history.

AI models are eating faster than the internet can grow Epoch AI published one of the most important papers in the AI industry. They estimated the total stock of quality human-generated text at ~300 trillion tokens, and projected an 80% probability that frontier models exhaust it between 2026 and 2032. We are inside that window now. But the real crisis is worse than the paper predicted. The supply isn't just finite. It's shrinking. Over 74% of newly created web pages now contain AI-generated text. The internet is being contaminated by the very models it trained. Every generation of AI pollutes the training data for the next one. The industry tried synthetic data as a fix. The research killed that idea. Models trained on their own outputs degrade. They lose the nuance and variability that made human data valuable. Without real human data as an anchor, quality collapses. Meanwhile, training costs keep climbing. GPT-4 cost ~$40M. The current generation is approaching $1B. The next: $10B+. Every dollar spent scaling compute accelerates the depletion of the data these models depend on. Ilya Sutskever said it at NeurIPS: "We've achieved peak data. There's only one internet." And that's just text. The industry is shifting multimodal. Models now need real-world audio across hundreds of languages. Real images from real environments. Real video from natural conditions. That data doesn't live on the internet. It hasn't been collected yet. The race for compute is solved by capital. The race for data has no equivalent solution. You can't manufacture more internet. You can't synthesize what doesn't exist. And you can't scrape what was never captured. This is what @hubxyz is building. The data AI needs next doesn't exist online. It exists in the real world. And someone has to go collect it

Are we running out of data to train language models? State-of-the-art LLMs use datasets with tens of trillions of words, and use 2-3x more per year. Our new ICML paper estimates when we might exhaust all text data on the internet. 1/12

AI doesn't learn in a lab. It learns from the world. Now, your smartphone is the tool. With the @hubxyz App, anyone can capture real-world data for AI companies and earn USDC for it. Turn your everyday environment into training data. Be part of the future.

I worked at Epic Games for two years. This is real, and the strategy behind it is smarter than most people realize. Tim Sweeney has spent nearly two decades buying North Carolina forest land. 50,000+ acres across 15 counties. He’s now one of the largest private landowners in the state. The purchases started in 2008, right after the real estate collapse wiped out developers who had been planning golf resorts and luxury communities on biodiverse wilderness. Sweeney paid $15 million for Box Creek Wilderness, a 7,000-acre stretch in the Blue Ridge foothills containing 130+ rare and threatened species. Developers had owned 5,000 of those acres before the crash. He bought them for conservation prices when nobody else was bidding. He runs the acquisitions through an LLC called “130 of Chatham.” He buys the land, holds it for years, then either donates it to the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service, sells it at a discount to state parks, or hands it to land trusts. In 2021, he donated 7,500 acres in the Roan Highlands to the Southern Appalachian Highlands Conservancy. Largest private land donation in North Carolina history. The part people miss: he told the News & Observer that since 2021, land got too expensive to keep buying. So he shifted focus to converting his existing 50,000 acres into permanent conservation status. He’s locking the land into legal structures that make development impossible regardless of who owns it in the future. A billionaire worth roughly $6 billion is spending tens of millions acquiring wilderness specifically during economic downturns, then giving it away or placing it under permanent legal protection. The land will outlast him, Epic Games, and Fortnite. That’s the part that separates Sweeney from billionaires who write checks to get their name on a building. The building depreciates. The forest compounds.

AI companies spend billions acquiring training data 5 billion people carry cameras and microphones in their pockets Nobody connected the two Until now We built a new platform where anyone with a phone can collect real-world data for AI and earn from it. A student in Manila recording how Tagalog sounds on a crowded bus. A mother in Lagos photographing the objects on her kitchen table. A woman in Bogotá capturing how afternoon light falls through her window. Real images. Real audio. Real environments. From 190+ countries. Data that no AI company can buy from any provider today because it does not exist yet. Hub already delivers structured training data to companies building the next generation of AI models. Now we are opening the supply side to the world. The people left behind by the economy just became its most valuable participants. The first tasks are live. The first contributors are already earning inside our Discord. This is not a test. This is the beginning. The full public launch is coming.

The models converged. The war didn't GPT-5.4, Gemini 3.1, Claude 4.6, Grok 4.2 Within 3% of each other on reasoning Within 4% on coding Within 5% on multimodal tasks The era of model differentiation is ending The era of data differentiation is beginning Every lab trained on the same public internet The same crawled pages The same licensed archives The same 5 trillion tokens Models converged because the training data converged The labs that separate themselves next will train on real-world data Not publicly available. Not pre-packaged Extracted from the live web, structured at the source, delivered to the pipeline before it becomes everyone else's training set That is what Hub was built for. The model war is over. The data war just started.

Larry Ellison $ORCL highlighted something critical: models like ChatGPT, Gemini, Grok, and Llama are all trained on largely the same public internet data. When everyone trains on the same information, models inevitably converge. That’s why AI is moving toward commoditization. The real moat isn’t the model itself. It’s the proprietary data behind it. Companies that can train on exclusive datasets gain an advantage competitors can’t replicate. Having data that no one else has will allow you to dominate your market.
