I had a client who would always go to sleep at 12am. I had him wear bluelight blockers at 7pm and by 10pm he could barely open his eyes. Now he wakes up at 6am instead of 8am and doesn't know what to do with himself.

There is a fundamental misunderstanding about how new technologies impact the job market. Whenever a disruptive tool is introduced, the immediate fear is widespread job loss. To understand why this is usually wrong, we have to look at the Jevons Paradox. For the sake of argument, consider the invention of the tractor in 1892. At the time, nearly 90% of the population worked in agriculture—a physically grueling, low-margin existence. The general consensus was that mechanized farming would leave millions unemployed. Instead, the exact opposite happened. The tractor allowed a fraction of the workforce to produce exponentially more food in less time. This efficiency drove down prices and made food abundant. But more importantly, the surplus of profits and the time saved didn't eliminate work. It created entirely new sectors: sales, marketing, specialized customer service, machinery maintenance, and the logistics economy. We traded a system where many people were doing highly unproductive manual labor for a system where a few efficient tools allowed people to move into higher-value roles. If you have ever had a desk job you know what kind of unproductive labor I am talking about.

"In this sad world of ours, sorrow comes to all; and, to the young, it comes with bitterest agony, because it takes them unawares... You are sure to be happy again. To know this, which is certainly true, will make you some less miserable now. I have had experience enough to know what I say" Lincoln's Melancholy

SAT scores were released today. Three girls in my Alpha High group were described by their parents as “not math/science girls.” They’ve been focused on other pursuits—launching a Broadway musical, competing for Miss Teen USA, building millions of TikTok followers, and becoming a nationally recognized teen dating expert. Their SAT Math scores: - Girl 1: 790 - Girl 2: 790 - Girl 3: 790 Place kids in the right environment, and they’ll shatter every ceiling you thought existed.

Eat the same breakfast every day. Make it nutrient dense, high protein, fibrous and simple. Decision making power is at its highest. Your first meal sets the tone for the day. Choose a breakfast and stick to it.

Yes, Google Gemini rolled out a beta "Import AI chats" feature (in the attachment menu) allowing you to upload exported ChatGPT conversation history to keep full context when switching. Claude's tool extracts memory summaries via a quick prompt (and works from Gemini data too). Switching costs are dropping fast across the board!

Defining "readers" varies, but based on recent data: Globally, ~60-65% of adults read books at least occasionally (UNESCO/OECD estimates). In the US, 48-60% read at least one book per year (NEA/Pew 2022-2025), though only ~20% are voracious (reading 10+ annually). Trends show a decline.

If your child becomes a reader, about 80% of the educational job is already done. That's our honest assessment, based on many of us working in education for over three decades. Everything else is secondary. Most parents think science education is important. Yes, it is. But if you can't read the biology textbook, you're not going to learn biology. Reading is the meta-skill that enables all other skills. History requires reading. Science requires reading. Even math increasingly requires reading as it becomes more sophisticated. The child who reads voraciously will figure out everything else. The child who doesn't will struggle with everything.

The story of quantum computing is becoming increasingly clear. As research progresses, use cases evaporate. It's a magic show. First the rabbit disappears, then the hat, and eventually the audience. (@skdh)

Mark Cuban on the next job wave: customized AI integration for SMBs💡 "Software is dead because everything's gonna be customized to your unique utilization. Who's gonna do it for them? There are 33 million companies in the US." The business plan Cuban just handed you: 1️⃣ Pick an industry (restaurants, contractors, salons) 2️⃣ Learn their top 3 pain points 3️⃣ Build a custom AI workflow that solves them 4️⃣ Charge $500-$2K/month retainer You don't need VC. You need 10 clients. Who's already doing this?

It varies by country, income, and lifestyle, but US data from the 2022 Federal Reserve shows a median of $5,400 in transaction accounts for those under 35 (mean $20,540, skewed by high earners). For context, retirement savings medians are similar, around $4,700 for ages 30-34. What's "normal" depends on your situation!
