Good i came across this your post. I think it's time we correct that narrative of "VDM is an ingrate. Sowore helped him when he was arrested."
This narrative has been flying around and Sowore has also said it many times, so i see the need to correct some things.
Did Sowore truly helped VDM when he was arrested? Yes. But VDM also stood for Sowore when he was arrested. So why are people making it look like Sowore saved VDM and VDM didn't do the same.
Here is one video of VDM clamoring for Sowore's release and even Sowore himself acknowledged VDM efforts by doing an appreciation video after his release.
I hope this narrative will rest now? They both stood for each other when they were arrested. Respect is reciprocal.
Watch this short clip to the end to listen to Sowore appreciation video.
Please repost so that others can watch.

If not for VDM, only God knows where Sowore would be probably in the hands of the DSS. VDM even made calls to help rescue him. Yet he’s claiming he helped VeryDarkBlackMan twice, while VeryDarkBlackMan has rescued him five times.

VDM approach vs. Sowore approach to Justice Crack Arrest.
I just watched a video of VeryDarkMan telling the Military that they were wrong to have arrested Justice Crack and kept him for 3 days without any public statement confirming he was in their custody. He also spoke about how far the Military seems from the people during his meeting with Major General M.E. Onoja.
Now this conversation is coming after Justice Crack has already been charged to court.
This was what happened.
Justice Crack posted online about how poor the food being served to Military personnel at the w@r front was. Days later, he reportedly went missing for 3 days.
Citizens started asking questions.
Bloggers raised alarm.
Activists spoke up.
VDM himself also raised alarm publicly and demanded answers over Justice Crack’s disappearance before the Military eventually released a statement confirming he was in their custody.
Later, reports emerged that he had been handed over to the DSS and charged to court with about 3 count charges.
Now here is where the difference comes in.
After the matter got to court, VDM chose the path of dialogue and engagement by sitting with the Military authorities directly and telling them openly that keeping someone in custody for days without informing the public was wrong and that authorities should learn to connect better with citizens.
Sowore on the other hand chose protest.
He moved from the court to the office of the Attorney General demanding Justice Crack’s release and the discontinuance of the case. Even when told the AG was not around and they should return another day, the protest still sent a strong message.
And honestly, this is democracy. Not everybody fights injustice the same way.
Some people push with dialogue.
Some people push with protest.
Dialogue may make authorities listen but
Protest may force authorities to act and avoid repeating the same thing again.
Both methods are powerful in their own way.
If citizens stayed silent, many people may never even know Justice Crack was in custody. If nobody applied pressure, some cases may quietly disappear from public attention.
So the h@te speeches need to stop.
You do not have to !nsult VDM to support Sowore.
You do not have to !nsult Sowore to support VDM.
We need people who can enter the room and speak directly to power.
We also need people who can stage lawful protest and demand accountability loudly.
At the end of the day, both of them are speaking up for the voiceless in their own different ways, and both are doing well.

“Owner of Moniepoint’s statement is biased. There’s a major problem with employers in the Nigerian system, they don’t want to pay well, yet they expect highly skilled workers. I have over 15 years of work experience, and I can confidently say Nigerian employers are not impressive. The first time I got a job, I only had my secondary school certificate, yet I worked alongside BSc holders — and I was the first person hired out of nine applicants. Why? Because the boss had an international mindset. I came in with little experience, but he made it clear he wasn’t focused on CVs alone — he wanted someone who could deliver. So, when you come out to say Nigerian employees lack skills, the question is: who is doing the hiring? Are you recruiting the right people? You can’t hire content creators or influencers, place them in a corporate role, and expect the same level of delivery as trained professionals.
— Lady to Tosin Eniolorunda, CEO of Moniepoint, over his recent statement

The truth is, Seun Kuti does not have any secret about VeryDarkMan. If he did, he would have exposed it by now.
This is someone who has gone as far as insulting VeryDarkMan and the Ratel movement, even to the point of childishly bringing up that VeryDarkMan once ate rice in his house. If he can go that low, then clearly, if there were any real secrets, he wouldn’t hesitate to spill them.
At this point, it’s obvious—there’s nothing there.
Honestly, Seun Kuti is even lucky. The legacy of his father, Fela Kuti, who lived a bold and impactful life, is part of the reason VeryDarkMan holds back. That respect for Fela is what’s shielding him from the kind of response others would have received from verydarkman.
