I was raised to support small-government, w/ limited intervention in our daily lives, which is why I’ve generally supported the GOP. However, in my state of Ohio and nationally, I see a concerning trend of the GOP wanting to control way too many aspects of our daily lives.

Anyone that voted for Trump, wholeheartedly, fuck you. If you don’t realize how fucked we really are from this war, you better start researching. With today’s events, a food scarcity crisis is almost guaranteed by summer.

@ClimateDefiance @MrMatthewTodd Unfortunately it’s not up to us. Governments have decided our fate. We just get to live with the consequences. What is astonishing, is the strength of the propaganda & lies they feed the people still work for the most part even with how obvious it’s become what’s happening.

@US_Stormwatch The reality of ignoring climate change warnings is going to be harsh for the west over these next couple decades. Mass exodus is coming. Wait until the Colorado, which is already at its lowest levels ever, starts to cause fighting among western states for access to its water.

@Colin_d_m Well, yes, but also, it wouldn’t be to this extreme if we had curbed the use of fossil fuels when scientist began warning us about the future impacts. Now, we get to witness the reality of that over the next few decades.

@WxNB_ What will it take for the masses to realize what’s happening? The amount of insane weather events over the past few years has still not gotten the general public to believe in climate change? What kind of event finally breaks through?

In Phoenix, Arizona, temperatures could reach an unbelievable 107°F (+42°C) on Friday. If that verifies, it would break the record for the earliest occurrence of 107°F since records began in 1895, pulverising the previous record by a whopping 44 days. This is totally bonkers.

@MrDanielBuck Yeah, this is 90% of the issue. Societal decay and lack of values/morals, or even just basic parenting at home. These same people that are incapable of teaching their child basic life-skills will then cry and say it’s the school’s fault.

New Survey: 50% of kindergarten teachers report their students are having more difficulty using bathroom on their own? Look, schools cannot function if parents don't do even the basic minimum in teaching their own children to toilet independently What a disheartening survey

@mandylorianm @SketchesbyBoze No, we are pointing the fingers at the parents of those kids. That’s the biggest issue hands down, people don’t parent their kids anymore. Then, they want the school/ teachers to fix all the problems they’ve created.

@SketchesbyBoze Maybe it was also that year when schools were closed and that additional one where they were kept masked and told to stay six feet away from each other. 🤷‍♀️ Pair that with the lack of proper literacy and numeracy instruction… let’s stop pointing fingers at the kids.

Every teacher I know personally is leaving the profession because students have become unteachable. They don’t read, they don’t talk to each other, they have no curiosity, no passion, no interest in learning. Giving kids unfettered access to screens has ruined a generation.
Steve Magness@stevemagness

In 2008, 62% of teachers said they were very satisfied with their job. In 2022, that dropped to 12%. We've got a serious problem brewing in education...

@AFpost Could have just not gotten into a pointless war with Iran and oil would be sitting at $70 a barrel with no need to touch reserves. Sigh.

@Ravens absolutely need to have draft picks taken. Could not be more clear what happened with the Crosby situation. Once Hendrickson had negotiated a deal, they decided they wanted to keep those picks. @NFL needs to come down hard on the organization.

@FencepostRep @DuffyBuckeye @DrJimLloyd The public schools are mostly funded by property owners, NOT the gov. Don’t worry, we’re gonna be voting to axe the tax come Nov. You can give the lawmakers all the ideas you wish cuz they’re gonna need it

Completely agree. The same conditions exist here in Ohio with our out of control voucher system. Already attending and no financial accountability for those public tax dollars.
Pastors for Children@pastors4txkids

76% of voucher applications from families already in private schools. Less than 1% of public school families have applied. @GregAbbott_TX told us vouchers save poor kids from failed schools. He lied. Vouchers subsidize rich kids in private schools. osod.org/early-voucher-…

@DuffyBuckeye @DrJimLloyd Not just kids that get into trouble, but special needs students as well. How about lack of access for some families due to location or lack of transportation. Private schools are fine, but like any private entity, they don’t need my tax money.

@FencepostRep @DrJimLloyd If everyone has ability to use a voucher then your argument is void. If your kid can’t go to private school because he is a trouble maker then that’s on him and his parents.

@DuffyBuckeye @DrJimLloyd There’s a difference in discipline because private-schools can choose whom they want to accept or not. That’s fine, but it’s why vouchers should not be paid for with the public’s taxes. Private schools are not a public service, as they can be selective in admission.

@DrJimLloyd We are able to send our kids to private schools for the first time thanks to Ohio Voucher system. Our kids have learned far more and we see a huge difference between private and public student discipline. It’s been a giant positive!

You aren’t America First if you support war with Iran. Simple as that. We gain almost nothing from this. In fact, in the short-term it makes American lives objectively worse. Higher oil means higher gas prices and return of inflation. Threat of terror attacks now rises as well.
