There's exactly a week left to vote on this year's 7 IntroComp entries. If you've not voted at all yet, please play a few and vote on a few. If you've already done a few, doing a few more will still be greatly appreciated. introcomp.org #InteractiveFiction

I have a fair amount of experience with two of the most popular interactive fiction authoring systems: Inform and Twine. I'm also good with the "Py" part of Ren'Py. If you're struggling to grok one of these, I'll be happy to help. #InteractiveFiction #IntroComp

Stories that get completed within a year of the contest are eligible for prizes based on public voting. If you've been looking for an excuse to learn how to write interactive fiction, this is it. Have questions? Need help? Please just ask me!

We're back after our one-year break! We plan on accepting intents to enter starting June 1st, so if you've got an idea for a piece of interactive fiction and would like to enter a low-pressure contest and get some feedback on your work-in-progress, we'll be there for you.

It's been awhile since I've been on here. It's kind of quiet and sad now as a majority of the folks I regularly interacted with through here have left.

I'm no longer even seeing many of your latest tweets. Instead my timeline is loaded up with the crap that the algorithm wants me to see. I'm not going to subject myself to this. I'll maybe check back on in a week or two to see if it's fixed, maybe not. Bye!

Over half the people I regularly follow have already moved to Mastodon. I've been still checking in here to see what the rest of you are up to. Now though I'm stuck in the algorithmically-generated "Home" mode and no longer have the option to go back to "Latest Tweets".

@debs_obrien It's definitely less user-friendly initially, and right now it's being a little overwhelmed by millions of people all trying to get accounts all at once. It's not bad though once one gets past that initial hurdle. Like many things it's worth a little effort.

OK I clicked on a mastedon link. I Don’t get it. I Don’t understand it. I think I’m just gonna stay here and if it all goes horribly wrong then so be it.

@qwrrty People without experience on systems that are supposed to be robust & run 24/7 *always* focus on the simplest use case, the "happy case". They never think about the unreliability that has to be overcome. Humans are imperfect creatures who write "an text" when they mean "a text".

@cassandrafaris It's kind of a diaspora, but a majority of the devs and tech folks I interact with regularly seem to have landed on Mastodon. The less technical people, not so much, so there's definitely a different tone to the content.

I have no idea what'll happen with Twitter, but I just paid a service $39 to download a list of my followers & folks I follow in csv format. I got a backup of my data last week from Twitter. The csv is easier to parse & price well worth it to preserve those contacts in some way.

I like how @CMONGames made the Unspeakable Box available again in this recent Cthulhu Death May Die Kickstarter. Although I already had it, making it available to a wider audience is a good thing. I hope they do the same for the Zombicide 2nd Edition Reboot Box soon, too.
