This week, I had the privilege to represent the @ug_lawsociety at the 5-day GBV/VAC Prevention & Response Training for Police Officers and Stakeholders in Refugee Settlements and Host Communities. Special thanks to @IDLO and @PoliceUg for the impactful initiative.

Grateful for the time shared with remarkable women in uniform @PoliceUg. Their courage, commitment, and leadership continue to inspire us all.

Today in Arua City, @ug_lawsociety launched the Policy Brief on Torture, engaging key justice stakeholders to address torture in detention and identify practical measures to strengthen human rights protection.

@ug_lawsociety today trained community volunteers in Arua District and Arua City, equipping them with basic skills to address local issues. Volunteers are key in promoting access to justice and building stronger communities.

Today @ug_lawsociety supported vendors and traders in Mvara Trading Centre, Arua City, to elect their leaders. This milestone paves the way for improved sanitation, security, and proper market organization through community led governance. 📸 Newly elected leader

Today @ug_lawsociety joined @Sihanet and @AruaCityUg in a market platform with women vendors. Key challenges: lack of secure land & poor sanitation. Vendors face eviction threats while working in unsafe conditions. Urgent action is needed to support women market vendors.

Today under the PACER Project, @ug_lawsociety and @FIDA_Uganda held a joint community sensitisation & mobile legal aid clinic in Nyio Market, Arua District.

The @ug_lawsociety successfully mediated a long, disputed land case involving families and an unregistered estate. The parties inspected the land, shared stories, measured boundaries, and signed a mediation agreement, showing how practical mediation restores peace and harmony.
