In the @EP_Justice, @LeijtensFrontex says that the shift of funds away from @Frontex leads to an "almost dangerous situation". Dangerous for whom exactly? For the people looking for safety Frontex has been blocking access to asylum for? For the people deported by Frontex?

Today @EP_Justice speaks with @Frontex director @LeijtensFrontex. When Leijtens took office, he promised "zero deaths" at the border. Last week, @ABoatReport showed Frontex covering up involvement in actions hindering access to asylum on Lesvos. Time to live up to the promise.

The Greek authorities should take note of these findings while completing the new Vastria CCAC on Lesvos. The camp should: ❌ not deprive people of their liberty ❌ not put people in detention ❌ not isolate people from the wider community
