Great to meet @LeijtensFrontex today to reaffirm the strength of IOM–@Frontex cooperation. Together, we explored how to advance migration management that is effective, humane, and grounded in fundamental rights - at the heart of our shared commitment.

Denis Bruckert, Head of the Copernicus Unit at #SatCen, took part in the panel discussion on “The Contribution of Space-Based Services to EU Efforts Against Illegal Activities” during the event 10 Years of Copernicus at Frontex. He underlined how Earth Observation and geospatial intelligence services strengthen European security – from External Action to internal security, crisis response and climate security – with SatCen expanding its support beyond CFSP/CSDP through cooperation with key EU actors in Space and Security, in particular the @EU_Commission. He highlighted that the evolution of EO services means not only the integration of new sensors (RF, hyperspectral, thermal, video) and the use of #AI and automation for smarter analysis and faster, secure delivery, but also the need to safeguard European strategic autonomy throughout this process. As a CFSP Agency and entrusted entity for Copernicus SESA, and in support of Frontex within Copernicus Border Surveillance, SatCen transforms EO data into reliable, actionable GEOINT for EU decision-makers and users. SatCen thanks @Frontex for organising this event and timely panel, and was glad to exchange with FRONTEX, @Europol, @eu_eeas, and @EFCA_EU – whose perspectives as key users and partners in space and security help drive our shared goals forward.
