😅 Russians are now ROAD-TRIPPING TO ANOTHER COUNTRY just to send a WhatsApp message A woman in Sochi drove around for hours, crossed into Abkhazia, popped in a local SIM... and only then could she finally use Telegram, Instagram, WhatsApp for work. “Nothing works in Russia — VPN, Wi-Fi, nothing! What is going on?!”

@clement_molin The moment someone starts lowercase-"russia"-ing in a thread about troop movements, losses, or strategy, you've already lost the argument before it starts. It screams your "analysis" is emotionally driven fanfiction, not facts. Neutral observers see right through it.

If you look closely to statistics, you can clearly see that there is no change in the russian 🇷🇺 rate of advances for the last 2 years in Ukraine 🇺🇦 The war in Ukraine has been ongoing for 4 years, including 3.5 years of "attritional warfare". Still, nothing changed and russian losses are climbing. When you have a rate of advance close to the one of the First World War, that after 4 years of war you are unable to break the frontline despite trying very hard (and being the 2nd army in the world), it is no more a strategy, it is a defeat. Talking about statistics, attritional warfare should see a progressive increase of ennemy progress until a collapse. This is not the case. In 2024, Russia took 3 500 km2 of ukrainian territory, and 4 500 in 2025. You can talk about an increase of 1 000. However, from january to april 2024, there was no big progress until the Ocheretyne "breakthrough", and also, in 2024, Russia was fighting in highly fortified and urban areas, while most of the progress in 2025 happened in empty fields of South-Donetsk, Zaporizhzhia and Dnipropetrovsk oblast. Thus, if you take from may 2024 to december 2024, you have 3 160 km2 and 3 441 a year later, again, in a emptier terrain. Since 2023, Russia was able to take 2 cities of less than 100 000 thousands inhabitants (Bakhmut and Pokrovsk) but was unable to even reach another one. In 2026, Russia is getting closer to multiple highly prepared campaign fortifications, which are closer to "obstacles". We have already seen how outdated fortifications increased russian losses and ruled out armoured vehicles, but we are now talking of numerous anti-infantry obstacles, that have already proven useful... My point is that despite the claims about an attritional war, or the claims saying if Russia wanted to win, they would throw their "real army", the situation on the frontline is not changing. Last year, and the year before, @AMK_Mapping_ was already saying Ukraine should abandon Donetsk oblast for peace. We can see today that last year saw no russian breakthrough and Ukraine fortified its rear. If they gave away Donbass, we can be sure that Putin would have continued his offensives into other oblasts. Just take an example : the frontline reached Pokrovsk a year and half ago, and yet, it is still in front of the city (which fell in the meantime)... You can say many things about Ukrainian manpower shortage, munition crisis, collapse of american support, difficulties to man the frontline, as I'm often doing, but people talking about that are never talking about russian difficulties. How it's been 4 years, how much soldiers Russia lost (200 000 confirmed !), how they are forced to do meat assaults to hope advancing... The current status of the war may well be attritional, but for who ? That is the entire question.

@clement_molin The 2 year figure is based on the assumption that the rate of advance remains linear, which isn’t how attritional warfare works.

@NOELreports Something I was wondering - what is the largest Ukrainian city that Russia has taken, AFTER the initial 2022 surge? Bakhmut, which was only ~70,000 people pre-war? They have not shown they can take a single real urban center after the initial months.

Ukrainian forces have regained positions south and east of Bilytske. After initially losing control over Rodynske, Russian forces immediately started pushing towards Bilytske which led to the loss of strategic positions. These have now been returned under Ukrainian control. AFU Regained: ~10.2km²

A Miami-based American Airlines Boeing 737 captain has posted their salary pay statement on reddit, leaving many people speechless. The pilot’s total year to date compensation was $458K, with the hourly pay being $360+ (flight hours only). Some comments suggest the pilot isn’t even top of earning potential - with widebody pilots earning around 24% higher and pay increases through to 2027 under their current contract.

@_JBradbury @BowesChay Don't you get the agenda behind this post, it's obvious that he isn't sincere and is just spinning the narrative instead of acknowledging the very real danger of Nazi Germany using these vessels to attack and overpower or atleast blockade Britain later in the war.

@BowesChay Churchill arguably the worst European leader of the last 100 years. Shameful his face is on the money and he's wrongly venerated by the UK establishment.

The single biggest loss of life for the French Navy in WW2 wasn't inflicted by the Germans or Japanese. It was inflicted by the British by direct order of Winston Churchill. On the 3 July 1940 the British Royal Navy carried out "Operation Catapult" the deliberate, cold blooded bombardment of the French fleet anchored at Mers el Kébir and Oran, Algeria. Despite repeated written assurances from Admiral Darlan and the French government that their ships would never fall into German or Italian hands, (assurances given personally and in writing only days earlier) Churchill issued an ultimatum that the French fleet either sail to British ports and surrender the fleet, scuttle the ships, or be destroyed. When the French commander, Admiral Gensoul, refused to hand over his sovereign navy to a foreign power, the British, without hesitation opened fire with devastating consequences. In barely fifteen minutes of merciless bombardment, led by the massive 15 inch guns of HMS Hood (later to be sunk by the German Bismark) the Valiant, Resolution and supporting ships, more than 1,297 French sailors were killed (the official French figure, with some sources citing up to 1,347) and another 351 wounded. More French servicemen died that single afternoon than on any other day of the entire war, more than at Dien Bien Phu, more than on any single day during the 1940 Battle of France. The battleship Bretagne took a direct magazine hit (the explosive store) the ship exploded spectacularly and capsized within minutes, taking 1,012 officers and men with her (only 36 survived from a crew of 1,013). The Provence was heavily damaged and deliberately beached to avoid sinking. The battlecruiser Dunkerque suffered 154 dead in the first attack, ran aground burning, and was strafed again on 6 July, adding another 56 dead. The destroyer Mogador had her stern blown clean off by a single 15 inch shell, killing 42 men instantly. The battlecruiser Strasbourg managed to escape damaged, hunted for days by British forces. Countless smaller vessels were sunk or crippled as British Swordfish aircraft deliberately machine gunned French sailors as they leapt into the water, trying to escape the inferno of burning oil and exploding magazines. Many Survivors described bodies floating amid the flames, men screaming while being strafed from the air by their British "Allies". The French returned fire only after the British barrage had begun, and even then with stunned restraint. Their shore batteries managed to hit HMS Hood and other ships, yet British casualties across the entire force amounted to just two killed and two wounded. Churchills assault was particlalry cynical as the armistice signed with Germany explicitly stated in Article 8 that the French fleet would "remain under French control and would never be handed over" Another convieniently ignored reality is thst the German navy never even attempted to seize the ships at Toulon in 1940, it was actually the French themselves who scuttled their own fleet in 1942 to keep it from German hands, but Churchill chose to order this massacre rather than trust his so called allies. To this day, Britain has never issued any formal apology. Mers el Kebir remains a barely mentioned footnote in British schoolbooks, while in France, as memory fades, to some the 3rd of July is remembered as the day an ally murdered 1,297 french sailors in cold blood. While Churchill maintained he didnt want the fleet to fall into German hands many, myself included believe he wanted to take these modern naval assets for British use, either way “Perfidious Albion” lived up to its name on that terrible day for the French. I hope this small piece helps illuminate another lesser known piece of history. Thanks for reading and please consider subscribing. Thanks, Chay.
