Does it feel like to anyone else that there's a concerted effort on X to get you to hate Sam Altman? I get it, he's a competitive CEO. Is he making shrewd and sometimes callous decisions? Sure. But you don't run one of the most important companies in the world by being soft. That goes for any CEO. He otherwise seems like a genuinely likeable guy. Not trying to glaze here, it just feels like there's a narrative being shoved down our throats constantly. --- Anyway here's the real story from @VeryBullishGuy "this is from 2018 lol. he put a $10,000 refundable deposit on a waitlist for a company called Nectome when he was running Y Combinator not OpenAI. MIT cut ties with Nectome like 3 weeks later and the whole thing basically died. his actual brain tech company right now is Merge Labs which raised $252 million in january and its literally the opposite of what youre describing. its non-invasive, uses ultrasound, no surgery. he literally said on record "i would definitely not sew something to my brain" the guy put $375 million into fusion energy and $180 million into a company trying to add 10 years to the human lifespan. thats not someone trying to die. thats someone trying to make sure nobody has to but yeah a refundable deposit from 8 years ago is definitely the real story here"
Ryan Fournier@RyanAFournier

Sam Altman has admitted he is on a waitlist for a procedure that would digitize his brain. The procedure would kill him. He considers this an acceptable trade for digital immortality. This is the person making decisions about the future of artificial intelligence for hundreds of millions of users. A man who views ending his own biological life as a reasonable step toward uploading his consciousness to the cloud. These are not the priorities of a stable leader.

So basically, ever since NATO refused to dance to Washington's war drums in the Middle East, there has been this lobotomized trend of Americans pushing for their "sweet and all-powerful" country to pull out of NATO to "teach Europe a lesson." It is worth noting that I've seen plenty of room-temperature IQ takes on this platform, but this one right here takes the trophy. Understand that America cannot pull out of NATO because doing so would be tantamount to a high-speed suicide. 1. BASES ARE NOT CHARITY HOUSES: Fact is that, American bases scattered around Europe are not a collection of homeless shelters for soldiers. They are being used by America to project raw power. They are the forward-operating gas stations of American hegemony. Those bases allow the US to protect trade routes and strike anywhere on the planet in a matter of hours. America has the ability to force and bully the world into using the dollar to buy oil today specifically because of these bases. Without these bases acting as drainage pipes around the Persian Gulf, America would not stand a single, solitary chance against Iran. So Americans, understand that you u are not "protecting" the EU; you're squatting in their yard so you can keep your boot on the world’s throat. 2. CLOSE ALL TRADE: Again, even with a rudimentary, fifth-grade knowledge of Economics, it’s not difficult to see that should America decide to close all trade with the EU, Americans will be eating their own shoes within weeks. Cutting the EU off would send the US stock market into an unprecedented nose dive and ensure that the "Made in the USA" sticker becomes a pathetic relic of a bygone era. You’re not "punishing" the Europeans; you’re amputating your own legs here. 3. THE TECH BAN: Refusing to sell military equipment to Europe may sound "alpha" to the Twitter keyboard warriors until you realize that American military industries like Lockheed Martin, Boeing, and Raytheon employ hundreds of thousands of Americans. Closing that market corridor is an automatic sack letter to that entire labor force, which would collapse the US economy overnight. Furthermore, the EU won't just sit there and cry like a baby, they will simply outsource their military equipment from Russia and China, and case closed. The American economy would effectively grind to a halt while your rivals cashed the checks. 4. INTELLIGENCE SHARING: This is the most delusional part of the entire manifesto. Intelligence sharing is a two-way street. If America refuses to share intelligence with the EU, then the EU shuts the blinds on America likewise. If their radar detects Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles from North Korea, China, or Russia heading for US soil, and you've "cut them off," they are not going to pick up the phone either. Before your own local radar can even pick up the signal, half of America’s major cities would already be buried under the rubble. Conclusion: This "Catturd" manifesto is a bluff written by people disconnected from reality who have enjoyed the safety and luxury of a US-led world for so long they’ve forgotten how they got it. You can't be the "greatest nation on earth" while hiding under your bed and refusing to talk to the neighbors. Cutting off the EU is not "America First." It’s America Finishing Last, alone, irrelevant, and blind, while the rest of the world moves on without the dying and outdated empire.
Catturd ™@catturd2

- Pull out of NATO. - Close all bases and remove all military personal from the UK, Germany, Spain, and France. - Never protect these countries again. - Stop all trade with these countries. ZERO. - Refuse to share any military technologies and don't allow to them to buy any military equipment. Ever. - Don't share any intelligence with them. NONE. - Tell them they have to provide 100% of weapons and money to Ukraine. - Cut them off completely.

🚨 stop scrolling.. read this twice.. OpenAI just paused "adult mode" and everyone's talking about the erotic part.. nobody's talking about the investor part.. investors didn't say it was dangerous.. they didn't say it was unethical.. they said it was bad for the brand.. there's a difference.. the same company selling itself as the builder of superintelligence.. can't ship a feature without calling its investors first.. this is a $300 billion company that needs permission from the money to decide what its own product does.. OpenAI doesn't have a safety problem.. it has an ownership problem.. and the thing about ownership problems is the product always ends up looking like whoever's holding the leash.. not whoever built it.. Altman keeps telling you he's building god.. but god apparently needs board approval before it flirts.

TOP 22 REASONS WHY US CAN'T WIN: 1) Americans are not interested, it is not high priority, Iran did not attack America. 2) Americans have other issues; economic, health, jobs, etc etc. Iran is not a top issue. Bombing Iran does not help Americans at all. Quite the opposite. 3) US military has recruitment issues & few troops. Iran can potentially have 10 million troops tomorrow. 4) Iran is far... very far. Exactly on the other are of the world from America. 5) Iranians are there, they live there, they will not go elsewhere... 93 million of them. Even if Americans kill 4 million like they did with Vietnam, Iranians have been there for 5000 years and will live there, just like Vietnamese. 6) Iran is like a fortress. No tanks possible. Ground war will be a nightmare. Only so much can be accomplished by planes. 7) US does not have any more bases there, all GCC bases are wiped out in 4 days. 8) US has a 1-minute man problem: ammunitions will end in a matter of weeks. 9) China is not sending REE magnets to US, tons of which are needed in all missiles, planes etc. NONE. Once all these ammunitions are used up, US will have nothing left; gun with no bullets is not useful. 10) Iran is probably getting piles of materials for their missiles. They will go on for months & years because they work from home. 11) Iran has shut down Persian Gulf & Red Sea. 20% less oil & gas to the world... ⏳ 12) US has a leadership which constantly lies, they lie with every word, every second. Nobody knows what US is trying to accomplish, including themselves... except for bombing Iran... just like in Vietnam. 13) The world with watching... with great disgust & fear, thinking that US can attack any country on any weekend, without any reason. What was the reason with Venezuela, or Canada, or Greenland? Everybody is fearful of the unpredictable lethal behavior of USA which means that over time, US will be cut off from global affairs. 14) Tariffs are in place & Americans are paying for it. NYFed Chair today said so, it took there 500 economists 400 days to figure it out; not really brilliant folks. 15) So is this a great time to increase Pentagon budget to $1.5, 2, 3T to cut social security, medicare, any kind of domestic support. People do not see each bomb costs 10 million $ while Congress keeps eliminating all social support, as poverty climbs? 16) This administration is harassing US cities as if we are Iranian cities as well. 17) Elections are coming, time is ticking, this is not 20-year runway like Vietnam war during unlimited US supremacy military & monetary power. 18) China is a super power who will have to back Iran with all they have got sooner or later. 19) Russia is another power, weak but always good in war, with piles of natural resources, who will have to back Iran sooner or later because they cannot afford Iran to fall. 20) EU/Canada/Japan/SKorea economies will fall into depression within 2026 & that will affect American economics. 21) US lost in Vietnam, Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria, Houthis, they could never finish the job, get a clear win. US knows how to do aerial bombing; that is about it. Iran is much much bigger & madder than all of them combined. 22) Americans may be pissed to read/hear this but who will go to fight in freaking Iran w/o draft? Nobody.

GPT-5.3, codenamed "Garlic" 🧄 is released on Thursday, Feb. 26th. It surpasses human baseline on SimpleBench of 83.7%. In fact, it blows every previous model out of the water on all non-coding benchmarks. Word has it is a *HUGE* leap. A GPT-3 to GPT-4 moment again. OpenAI has long had the best RL/post-training pipeline, which makes sense since they were the first lab to train LLMs for inference time reasoning using RL (o1). Now they've got their mojo back when it comes to pretraining too (Mark Chen, Chief Researcher, alluded to this on Ashlee Vance's podcast last year). Public comments from sama also point in the direction of major progress. This could be the big one. It may be deserving of a major version bump. That's my prediction.

🚨 UPDATE: It just got worse. CJNG has issued a direct ultimatum to Mexico: meet our demands — or our men enter your homes and hotels tonight. Residents of Guadalajara received a chilling warning: be off the streets by 2PM or face violence. The 5PM deadline has passed. Nobody knows if they’ll follow through. But the streets are already answering. 🔥 21+ narcobloqueos still burning — Jalisco, Michoacán, Colima, Tamaulipas, Guanajuato, Aguascalientes, Nayarit, Zacatecas, Guerrero. No signs of stopping. 🌴 Cancún — blockades and shootouts erupting in Mexico’s most visited tourist destination. Families trapped in resorts. 🌵 Tijuana — border city flaring hard. Carjackings and blockades active blocks from the U.S. border. 🏖️ Puerto Vallarta — Costco engulfed in flames. Every exit road blocked. Tourists physically cannot leave. Air Canada pulled out entirely. ✈️ Guadalajara Airport — passengers still stranded. Flights suspended indefinitely. Videos of tarmac chaos still flooding social media. 🏫 Schools closed Monday — entire statewide system shut down. Public events cancelled immediately. 🔫 National Guard engaged in active shootouts across multiple states simultaneously. 🏛️ Prison assault reports confirmed — guards killed, escapes reported. U.S. Embassy still active: shelter in place across Puerto Vallarta, Chapala, Guadalajara, Reynosa, Michoacán, Guerrero, Nuevo León. Do not move. Canada has issued identical warnings. Both countries pulling flights. Families locked in homes. Tourists trapped in hotels waiting to see if CJNG follows through on their threat. Kids home from school tomorrow. An entire country holding its breath tonight. A cartel threatening to kick down your door isn’t power. It’s a cornered empire screaming. The most dangerous moment for any cartel is right after it loses its head — and CJNG just proved why. #ElMencho #Mexico

People will say I shouldn’t hype here and there, but I’m going to be honest I don’t hype unless I am certain or I know information that gives me a reason to hype. You could check my page all through throughout the last six months it’s quite rare that I “hype” up a release anymore. However, I will give credit where credit is due. The next three months are looking pretty good for OpenAI the return of Orionic - classic pre trained models is back. Mark Chen - recently said on a podcast that pre training is like a muscle. You have to flex and boy did they flex it early 2026 will be exciting.
