El capítulo 5 y sobre todo el 6 de Maul Shadow Lord es una locura. La serie construye desde el terror con el Imperio y el Inquisidor. Es loable como hace la serie en su escritura que conectes con los nuevos personajes tanto los Lawson como con los Jedi. 👌#MaulShadowLord

#MaulShadowLord has crossed a threshold and reached a point where it's just not slowing down anymore. It still takes plenty of time to further develop its characters, but the story beats follow each other at a fast pace, quickly raising the show's tension. The Imperial takeover of Janix is great, the action - whether it is small segments of martial arts or the fantastic lightsaber fights - is phenomenal and Marrok has suddenly been turned into a villain with incredible presence and style. Stretching this hunt over two entire episodes was a great choice that really captured the hopelessness our characters face. We see surprisingly little of Maul these episodes, but what we get is great. It's a real testament to the quality of the writing that even with him mostly absent, the show is still intriguing because Devon and Daki are such a pleasure to watch. I'm still not sure how to really feel about Brander Lawson - his backstory in the comics is lackluster and he just feels a little bland - but I liked the scenes his son got. I wish the conflict between Brander and his ex-wife had been more central to the narrative (though it might yet be); the gradual realisation that there is no ethical law enforcement under tyrannical, fascist rule is something Brander is slowly realising, but I wish there was a little more to it. I had seen people theorise that it could be his wife who would lead the lockdown of Janix and I ultimately feel that conflict would have been more interesting than what we got. Still, despite this, the character dynamics work really well and I'm excited to see how the conflict escalates further and further. I'm VERY surprised Eeko-Dio Daki has survived as long as he did and I do believe next week will be his final appearance. Seeing him struck down by Inquisitors will likely catalyse Devon to re-evaluate Maul's offer and I'm beyond excited to see this.

Andor vibes. Maul Shadow Lord just got VERY good.

In just two episodes, Maul Shadow Lord has managed to turn Marrok - a character who dies like a literal fart - into a competent, menacing and scary Jedi Hunter and one of my favourite Inquisitors. Beautifully animated with many subtle mannerisms and framed in a way that makes him feel like pure malice has come to hunt you down. I'm glad they gave him these two episodes on his own before bringing in the Crow Inquisitor next week. Absolutely brilliant.
