Pre-orders are live for The Rise of Demons! Book 1 of The Dark War Trilogy It’s a dark fantasy mystery rather than full-scale epic fantasy. No chosen ones, no instant world-ending wars. Just a slow unravelling of things the world insists don’t exist. a.co/d/eBCHJdp

GitHub’s report today confirms that the compromised Nx Console extension was used as the initial access vector in this attack. This is a difficult thing to read as the CEO of Nx, and I want to be direct about it: we take responsibility for the role our software played in this incident. I’m grateful to the GitHub, Microsoft, and independent security teams that moved quickly to investigate, contain, and share information publicly. This incident highlights that there need to be deeper, more fundamental changes to how we and other maintainers need to think about securing developer tooling and open source distribution. We are already making major changes to our publishing, automation, and extension security posture, and we’ll continue sharing those changes publicly as we implement them. We’re also beginning conversations with other high-profile open source maintainers about how we can work together on some of the deeper structural problems around software supply chain security. A lot of the assumptions the ecosystem has operated under for years no longer hold. Our focus right now is supporting affected users, hardening Nx, and helping push the broader ecosystem toward stronger supply chain security practices. I wanted to build a world that I could pick a point in time, a character, and a location and write a story. The idea was that each story could be standalone, but the world should feel familiar to readers. As part of the world building - I had this piece of history that I felt would make a good initial trilogy to help shape the world for the readers. The Dark War Trilogy came about because of the initial lore I was writing for The Dark War

Context is king - particularly when dealing in an age where dependencies ship with native binaries. I've found a useful debugging step with LLMs to be to clone the source repo of the dependency with the native binary and allow the LLM to read from that directory.

Approaching 40. - My eyes started getting tired. I had to switch from "More Space" to "Default" on my laptop. - My body stopped processing caffeine quickly enough. It's only ~800mg per day now. - I got even grumpier.

It's with a heavy heart that I say goodbye to @NxDevTools . After 5 years of working on the Nx CLI, today I start my new role as CLI Engineer @supabase I'm excited for the new challenge! However, it would be remiss of me to not acknowledge the wonderful learnings and opportunities that I had at Nx. Over the 5 years, I watched Nx progress and grow into a versatile build system that has helped improve many developers' experience working with the tools required to build their products, while saving many developer hours in the process. I feel proud of the contributions I brought and maintained within the Nx CLI - Module Federation, Angular, Rspack, Angular + Rspack, Docker to name but a few. The Nx CLI was basically a second home to me. Leaving it is tough. But I know it is in capable hands 💪 Here's the future and future challenges with Supabase 🥂

There are now 7M developers using @supabase Signups have been accelerating since the start of the year Our growth rate right now is as fast as it was during YC, except that we are doing it from a base of millions of developers instead of thousands

The Rise of Demons is available on Amazon. Mysteries unfold as Vivrel Ginlo, Protector of the Realm, chases down strange rituals linked with the return of demons. Demons that are thought to be a myth, a figment of Vivrel's imagination. Vivrel faces an uphill battle not only to find evidence of the existence of demons, but to convince Alinar Pawynn, Leader of the Grand Elven Council, to take notice of the dire situation unfolding in the Onaem. But when Calilas Larethan, High Commander of the Grand Elven Army, joins Cithril Ronala, Justice Domari, in an investigation into the robbery of The Vault of Osgrua, events start to intertwine and Vivrel's theories can no longer be outright dismissed. --- amazon.co.uk/Rise-Demons-Da…
