yuga's weird off-brand game and the huge L by azuki just shows that none of the "leaders" in this space have any clue what they're doing we're all just learning how to use the new tech that is NFTs will @aavegotchi get it right? IDK, but at least we're doing 3 things right: 1) expanding our IP with games that actually leverage the IP. why yuga didn't make their pets around their actual IP is beyond me, but seems like a misstep. @gotchiguardians is a game in a new vertical (tower defense) but it uses the core Aavegotchi IP that people know and love. 2) no dilution of NFT assets without community consent. Aavegotchi is powered by a DAO, and we actually care about and listen to our community. Issuance of new Aavegotchis, wearables, and even land are all under the auspices of the DAO now. 3) better ways of handling mints. yuga's otherside and azuki's elementals mints were both completely botched. sure, they raised funds, but holders paid dearly. we were the first major NFT project to use #BidToEarn auctions which are provably a better minting experience for everything, including the project. more projects should be using it. again, no one knows the future and the chances of any of the NFT projects we know and love of succeeding on a big scale is, statistically speaking, pretty low. if the "leaders" in the space could adhere to these principles better, I think overall the space would be in a much better place. thanks for coming to my ted talk (and my first long-form thread!)
