Crypto in general is missing that old “group chat” energy, when people felt like: - They could *actually* be early - Everyone had a fair entry - The community felt fun, connected, and worth being part of - We rooted for each other. Fever Pitch Games is bringing that back.

Solana Sensei@SolanaSensei

My honest thoughts about the Solana ecosystem right now: Even though I’m still extremely bullish, the ecosystem genuinely feels very different from before. We’ve built more apps, improved infra, onboarded more users, more institutions, more capital, and generated more revenue than ever before. The ecosystem is objectively stronger. But somehow it also feels more lonely than before. The space got so big that many of us don’t even know each other anymore. Things feel more artificial, distant, and transactional. Back in 2021, the community itself carried Solana on its back. The devs were eating glass 24/7, creators onboarded users out of pure conviction, and the narratives were built organically by the people. The foundation barely even had a social presence back then. The community had the power. Now it feels like too many people rely on the foundation, engagement algorithms, institutional validation, and coordinated narratives to shape the culture for them. I mean "Solana kols" are now foundation members. And that’s where I think things become dangerous. If the narratives of the ecosystem are artificially constructed and amplified from the top down, the culture slowly loses authenticity. People stop thinking for themselves and just start echoing whatever is placed in front of them. The culture became bigger, but weaker. It's more efficient forsure, but less human. A lot of people no longer love Solana itself. They just use Solana because the tech is good or because the current meta is here. There’s less collective identity, less emotional attachment to the chain, and less genuine support between builders unless there’s financial incentive attached to it. Back then we all felt responsible for pushing Solana forward together. Now many people just spectate lol. The Solana I fell in love with was built around real communities, nfts, friendships, chaos, conviction, and collective belief during the hardest times. Not just perps, casinos, AI agents, and whatever the next shiny meta is. Maybe this is simply what happens when ecosystems mature. Maybe I'm just too washed now. I genuinely miss when the people themselves felt like the soul of Solana.

@samoweb3 @CryptoGorilla If any of those projects solely derived their value from us directly giving them benefits then it was never going to work out. Things go up, things go down. Would you have preferred that we never include or consider NFTs?

fantasytop made 3 critical decisions that killed their app 1. chose Blast and Base this is too obvious yet so many founders still fall into this trap saying “if the app is fun users will come like polymarket” reality is completely different. pumpfun wouldn’t be what it is today if it launched elsewhere. same for phantom, fomo, collector crypto, etc degens are the most important users for crypto apps and most of them live and breathe on solana. choosing other chains basically makes PMF 100x harder for no reason we saw this with our own products too. our first 10+ apps launched on eth mainnet and L2s all failed. then we launched @addicteddotfun on solana and it immediately did $4M and became one of the biggest crypto games last year 2. chased non-financialized “fun” another huge trap in crypto is trying to build a fun app that isn’t centered around making money because founders think degens are too niche every crypto app that found PMF focused on degens. most apps chasing non-financial users aka normies failed fantasytop started as a very degen product. their product and marketing were perfectly optimized for degens, but they still ended up falling into the same trap as everyone else 3. aimed for a sustainable long-term product fantasytop was fun for a few weeks but degen brains are giga fried. they’re looking for one-time crazy money-making opportunities, not the same gameplay loop forever this took me years to understand but expecting degens to keep playing the same game with the same assets is pure delusion polymarket works because their tokens have expiration dates. pumpfun works because there are always new tokens to ape we live in a crazy attention economy and degens are the most extreme version of it builders need to prioritize what people actually want over what they personally want to build. fantasytop spent 2.5 years trying to make a sustainable card game before realizing nobody really wanted that if they pivoted into card games with new token launch mechanics they probably could’ve been 1000x bigger a lot of this might sound counterintuitive but it’s what i’ve learned building crypto apps for 5+ years

@StarPlatinum_ Lots of people had many chances to make a lot of money. Sounds like a lot of crying in the arcade. Crypto gamers want to write a Disney movie about the up-only, dump-on- everyone-to-the-top, nobody-ever-lost-money game that will never exist. Sell earlier. Move on.

Fantasy Top is shutting down🚨 - one of the biggest SocialFi projects of the Blast cycle - turns CT influencers into tradable NFT cards - users build fantasy teams based on X engagement - packs were selling for around 0.43 ETH - $1,200 at the time - in just days generates over $10M in fees - more than 21,500 users - one of the highest revenue protocols in crypto - influencers themselves get paid from trading fees - around 575 ETH distributed early - entire ecosystem becomes tied to Blast points - Blast Gold - FAN farming - speculation on future rewards - the team keeps trying new pivots - Tactics - prediction markets - Clout - Arenas - social betting systems - none of them find long term product market fit - meanwhile the token everyone expected never launches - the founder later says launching one would have been dishonest (because they knew it probably would go to zero ) - May 2026 and Fantasy top announces it is shutting down - over $20M distributed to players - $3.2M paid to heroes - investors refunded $1 for every $1 invested Probably one of the saddest cases in crypto gaming this year
