@doppel_ichi Can’t speak for everywhere but my wife us a kindergarten teacher and thats one of the main things they all teach. My son is also taught it in his preschool and he’s ready to read here in the next 6 months probably

Upfront thoughts. So much of “premium streaming content” is just rich people lifestyle stuff and wealth porn. Upper leg of the K-shape is where the fertile ground for scripts is right now. Remember when rich people lifestyle media was rare? Lifestyles of the Rich and Famous ran once a week and it was only a glimpse, a different planet. Most sitcom and prime time content was middle class environs. Now the default is wealth. Especially for young adult content, a ton of what I saw this week was private school rich kid fare. I get it, it makes for a lot of intrigue and the nepotism / salacious scripts are basically table stakes a this point. But I think that does something to society. We are never getting another The Wire, are we.
